A 200 year-old four-bedroomed former dairy farm, located within five minutes drive (20-minute walk) of the nearest beach and within a stone's throw of the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. It boasts exposed beams, wood-burning stoves (complimentary fuel), a well-appointed kitchen and large garden. The property sleeps 8 (plus sofabed) and is child- and pet- friendly. Also suitable for less mobile guests.

Why Owner chose Haverfordwest

I bought this dilapidated farm after a blissful holiday in Pembrokeshire in 2012. It was near half a dozen of the most wonderful beaches I've ever seen. It was also architecturally fascinating and it seemed a challenging 'project'. Unfortunately it was - but fortunately the end results have proved the effort worthwhile.

What makes this farmhouse unique

A beautiful old building, full of timbers and stonework, cosy thanks to the underfloor heating, yet with the romance of wood burning stoves (and unlimited free firewood for guests). It is also minutes walk of the Coastal Path and the dog-friendly beaches of the Havens.

A beautifully welcoming home.

The house is well equipped and full of quirky objects. There is plenty of space for everyone to find a space for a spot of 'me' time and an impressive farmhouse table for family meals and games. We explored the local area and enjoyed the beaches, cliff walks and great localfood.

Set in the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the area has almost limitless outdoor leisure possibilities. The coast (just a few minutes walk away)- is the principle draw for many seeking a family seaside holiday, with some of the best beaches in Britain within easy reach .. As well as swimming, surfing, rock pooling and beachcombing, there are plenty of ways to fish - be this with fly, worm or lure, from river bank, rocks, beach or boat. It is also a great base for walkers (the Coastal Path runs just behind the house), while bikers of every discipline and standard will love the gentle rolling coastal landscape and the challenges of the nearby Preselli hills. Less active visitors will enjoy the fantastic photographic and artistic possibilities. And it is one of the best birdwatching sites in Britain, located not only on an important migration route, but with the puffin and Manx shearwater colonies on Skomer only a stone's throw away. Pembrokeshire is also steeped in history, with castles and one of the most stunning - but least known - Neolithic sites in Europe. Henry Tudor landed here in 1485 on his way to usurp the crown from Richard III and 160 years later it was a Royalist stronghold during the Civil War. Later its endless sheltered coves and distance from centres of power made it a stronghold of smugglers. . . . . . .
