About this property

Welcome to our cottage in the country! Enjoy staying in a 19th century home located on a small farm. Enjoy relaxing on the rockers on the front porch with views of farm animals and wildlife. As you enter the front door you will have an open floor plan to a living area that has a flat screen TV w/ digital antenna , DVD player, fireplace, and comfortable seating. There is a powder room for convenience. If you enjoy music, there is a radio w/ CD player, and record player. The Kitchen has all that you need: island w/ sink, dishwasher drawer, and seating for 2, large refrigerator, commercial gas range and hood, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, all cooking utensils, and eating necessaries. If you like to cook outside there is a gas grill and a Big Green Egg. Relax in the screened-in room with dining for 2 or read a book or take a nap on the hanging bed. The bedroom and main bath are on the second floor. In the bedroom there is a queen size bed, night stands, reading lights, dresser, closet, flat screen TV w/ digital antennae, sitting area, and books to read. The large bathroom has a tiled shower, vanity, mirror, and toilet. All linens and towels are provided. The home is kept comfortable with HVAC. WIFI is supplied. For your dog friend we provide a sofa cover, bowls, and natural treats. Maximum weight for your dog is 30#. Only 2 dogs are allowed with a $100 fee for one and an additional $75 for the second one. Send information for approval. We do require that you cleanup after your dog and attend to them outdoors. Please note that our home does not accommodate children. Perfect, absolutely perfect

There is everything to like and nothing to dislike about this cottage and the other two. We arrived to stay at Fairview after spending a few days in New York and Washington, having enjoyed the hustle, bustle of city life, arriving at the cottage was total tranquility and peace. Pete and Carol welcomed us with delicious homemade scones, and a warm hello, told us that they were there to help in any way if we needed it. We agreed to meet up at sometime during our stay, I was on a promise of meeting Bella the “Frenchie” We were also greeted by the numerous animals, hens, roosters, donkeys, puss cats, emu’s and an array of wild birds, deer came along too in the evening. Opening the fridge to fresh laid eggs was fab. There’s nothing that the cottage lacks, it’s tastefully decorated to a really high standard, with everything and more than you could wish for in facilities. During our stay we met with Pete and Carol and enjoyed lovely food, quite a lot of liquid refreshment and the best of company. We truly can’t recommend it enough to anyone thinking of staying there. Beautiful Cottage

If you are looking a property in Lancaster, please consider this beautiful cottage! This cottage is located in a peaceful and quiet location. It is also located on a farm for you enjoy. Carol and Pete, the property owners were the best ever and made me feel right at home. I hope to have opportunity to stay in the cottage again!

Wonderful!

This was by far one of our best experiences with a vacation rental! The home was immaculate, well-equipped, and comfortable. We were welcomed with delicious scones, a bouquet of roses, and treats for our pups. In the mornings, we were greeted by the farm animals, which was definitely a highlight of our stay! We loved meeting and chatting with the extremely kind owners. If you’re looking for a cozy getaway with all the charm of country life, this is the place to go. We will be back!

Fall travels

Cozy stay in a beautiful area!

Wow, what a wonderful experience that we had staying at this property. Take a look at the pictures, it really is just as amazing as it looks. It has plenty of room to spread out, an amazing kitchen, incredible ambiance, and plenty of spots to sit and relax and watch the chickens. The hosts were very kind and helpful, and made sure we had everything that we needed. Hope to be back soon!

What makes this property unique

The historic area around us has so much to see and enjoy. Whether you enjoy nature, hiking, kayaking, boating, shopping, farmer's markets, the Amish, or relaxing you will have the opportunity for it all. So close to the Susquehanna River to be able to use it or the hiking trails around it. If you want to travel to a big city, we are centrally located to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, or New York City. But, you will enjoy the city of Lancaster and Columbia for their arts and antiques.
