A lovely rustic traditional stone-built property situated in peaceful rural Loire Valley. Sleeps 4-6 persons (1 Double bedroom and 1 Family room). On the ground floor there is a small double bedroom, a bathroom (shower only), a kitchen with a dining area and a lounge. On the first floor, there is a large family room with a king-sized bed and two single beds which convert into a seating area if not in use. Please note that the upstairs bedroom does not have a door, and is accessed via the main staircase in the lounge downstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a microwave, gas hob and oven, toaster, hob-kettle, and fridge with a small freezer compartment. There is seating for up to 6 people. The bathroom has a shower only (no bath) and also has a washing machine for guests. The lounge has two sofas (1 sofa-bed if required), a wood burner for off-peak season, a TV and DVD player, and plenty of DVDs and books for use by guests. Please note that the property does not have wifi.
Outside, the property is situated on what was once a farm - and is positioned opposite the main farmhouse which is also a holiday home. The property has a small patio area at the rear with a table, chairs and a BBQ in season. There is also a large orchard and playing field at the rear of the property for games. There is a swimming pool during the summer season, which is enclosed, and equipped with sun loungers, a seating area and an outside shower.
The property is a 10 minute rural walk to the nearest village, Le Guedeniau, where there is a local bakery (and sweet shop!), and a bar/restaurant. The nearest town, Bauge, is a 5-10 minute drive away, where there are supermarkets, a town centre, Chateau and town square, bars, shops, golf course and banks etc.
Larger cities such as historic Saumur and Angers, are a 25-30 minute drive away which boast some beautiful Chateaux and great shopping areas.
Local to the property (a 20 minute walk or a 3 minute drive) is the Chandelais forest which is lovely for cycling and walking. There is an adventure sports centre 5 minutes drive away, which has a great tree-climbing facility that is very popular for children and teenagers, and there are also a number of local very reasonably priced horse-riding centres which the property owners can provide contact details for.
For wine-lovers, the Loire area has some fantastic wines and there are a number of vineyards within the local area.
For car-lovers, Le Mans is a 40 minute drive away, which boasts the 24 hour Le Mans race circuit and museum.
