Why Kirstie Duke chose Castle Combe

Castle Combe is an exceptionally beautiful and untouched village in the Cotswolds. Within a 2 minute walk to the Manor House complete with Michelin star restaurant 'the Bybrook', golf course, Castle Combe Circuit racing and endless stunning walks along the river, this is a place you can do everything or nothing. Perfect to unwind in front of our wood burning stove set in a majestic fireplace. You will never want to leave!

What makes this house unique

Please note there are two low doorways in the house which you need to be aware of, as this is a 15th century house. It does keep tall men out of the kitchen which can be a good thing. We hold no responsibility for any accidental damage that you may incur within the house. Please pay attention on the stairs and through the doors! Most of the ceilings, however are extremely high, you are not checking into a Hobbit house!

A beautiful house in a beautiful 'chocolate box' village

  • 5 of 5

Had the most wonderful few days in this outstanding, well equipped 'tudor house' in the Cotwolds. Plenty of room for us 4 adults and 4 children, with Castle Combe as a great spot to explore the surrounding villages, with Bath only 20 mins away. We also did one of the local Castle Combe walks into Ford which was great fun too !!! Two lovely pubs/restaurants in the local area serving great food. Would definitely recommend this lovely home to anyone looking to explore the Cotswolds.

Lovely cottage, nice host

  • 4 of 5

Cottage is charming. Village how you imagine a Cotswold village to be. Comfy beds, lovely sofas, well dressed cottage. My parents didn't like the tv issue (chrome cast). And the poker for the fire was missing. Apart from that all very nice. Thank you!

Wonderful family time at most charming home!

  • 5 of 5

I have spend 4 days at this lovely house at castle Combe with my family and some friends. We were 2 couples with 3 children aged 10, 9 and 8. And we had an amazing time. The house is located in one of most beautiful towns in Cotswolds and was perfect for our needs. The house is an old house but has been renovated keeping the old style flavour. 2 very comfortable double rooms for the parents and 1 for the children .The modern kitchen is fully equipped to cook evening meals that we enjoyed in the comfortable dinning room. If you want to have a proper experience at Cotswolds I certainly recommend staying here. The people in the village are also super friendly !

Tsk Kirsten!,,, see you next time !

Stunning! A wonderful experience. Highly recommended .

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic house and what a wonderful host Kirstie is. This was an 80th birthday celebration weekend focusing on a banquet style dinner . What a stunning success! The house is beyond beautiful, the overall quality is exceptional (goose down duvets, 5* linen and towels so fluffy that they make me want to chuck out all the ones I have at home).

Spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. 150% fantastic! Thank you Kirstie, you were wonderful and so helpful and friendly when I had questions . We had a weekend we will never forget!

One tiny p.s .........please could you put a couple of mixing bowls, wooden spoons and a measuring jug in the kitchen please and a small microwave would be a blessing. Cooking meaningful food was a bit tricky, but then I guess most folk don't want to...... on the othe hand, it is advertised as 'perfect for entertaining' which it absolutely is.

Owner's Response: It was an absolute pleasure having Stella and her family to stay and this kind of feedback makes it all so worthwhile for us! I would recommend them to any hosts anywhere and would absolutely love to have them all to stay in our house again, any time! Feedback noted on the kitchen! Next time you stay it should hopefully be fully kitted out..never notice these things until someone's looking for them :) Thank you so much Stella and I'm so glad it was such a special weekend.

Tranquil retreat

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Castle Combe. The property was fun to stay in to get a feel for life in the 15th century yet still have the modern comforts of home. Expect some unlevel floors and low doorways (I bumped my head and I'm only 5 feet tall!) which add to the old charm of the home. The self serve baking being sold outside the cottage across the street was a delicious treat to enjoy with a cup of tea in the evening. Communication with Kirstie was always efficient and our inquiries were addressed with exactly the information we needed. Castle Combe was peaceful and quaint and we loved coming home after a busy day of sight seeing to relax in this tranquil village. There is plenty of room to spread out in this home. We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage daughters and there was plenty of room for more guests without feeling cramped. We would gladly stay here again. Castle Combe stole our hearts!

Excellent séjour.

  • 5 of 5
