The Modern 2 storey, 3 bathroom Town House is full of Caribbean charm and provides for comfortable living for a family of up to 6. The floor plan utilises a logical layout appearing both spacious, light & airy with an extra toilet and shower room downstairs. A large eat-in kitchen and breakfast bar is joined by the dining and living area downstairs, enjoying lots of sunshine with a unique sofa corner, consisting of 2 luxury sofa beds. Dual sliding doors provide access to the rear patio and a private entertaining/relaxing area. Electric BBQ, table & chairs for your own use are provided. Each bedroom is equipped with full air-condition, and TV in the Master bedroom. En-suit toilet & shower facilities available in both bedrooms. The Master bedroom is both spacious & airy, with a Large King size (European) style bed. A large mirrored wardrobe provides plenty of space for your clothing and linens/towels etc. Sliding (lockable) doors provide access to your own balcony with views to Tierra Del Sol championship golf course. The Guest bedroom contains a Queen size (European) style bed, also with the provision of ample storage via the Mirrored sliding wardrobe. Access to your own balcony is via (lockable) sliding doors with views on to the Gold Coast community & 26 acres of lush tropical landscapes. An extra toilet and shower room is also available downstairs. All modern appliances are available including washing machine & dryer, WiFi etc.Your own private safe is ready available and can be fully programmed with your own security references.

3 community swimming pools, club house, restaurant, cocktail bar, Gym and Tennis courts are all available on site. 24 hour security within the Gold Coast exclusive community is included.The owners frequently vacation with their grown up children & grandchildren and hope that you love and respect our property just as we do!

We are a married couple with grown up children and also grandchildren and live in the UK (Devon). As a family we often use our holiday home when we have a free slot and guests are not renting, and our family business allows us to! Having traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean islands, Aruba always remains our favorite!

Why Richard Woolcott chose Malmok

The owners have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean islands, eventually selecting Aruba as their top destination, the reason being: We are outside the Hurricane belt and able to have full use of the property as Aruba is blessed with consistent and beautiful weather all year round.Personal and family security is never an issue on the island & the locals are so genuinely friendly and interested in tourists to their island. Near perfect weather 85f most days and solid sunshine too! Do not take any notice of weather forecasts as its a relatively dry island! You can visit Aruba all year round as it is outside the hurricane belt, unlike the majority of islands further north which suffer from hurricanes between June & October! We purchased our property at Gold Coast based on the quality of build, and also the fact that it is the only gated community on the island. The community is just the right size, not too large and yet not too small. We have got to know the staff and some of our fellow owners over the years who are trusted and friendly individuals.

24 hour security, 3 pools, a beautiful new club house with gym, restaurant, cocktail bar and tennis courts, 26 acres of lush landscape. whats not to like!?

What makes this house unique

Aruba is great island for watersports and in particular Windsurfing which is the main passion of the home owner! The security on the island is superb and the local people are always so friendly and interesting. There are some great facilities on the island, such as University, hospitals and the Dutch influence provides a unique cultural blend.

Unlike other Caribbean islands, Aruba falls outside of the ' Hurricane belt' and is perfectly safe to visit all year. 12 Degree north of the equator also means it is the most southerly of the Caribbean islands, and is approximately 25 miles from South America - you can see Venezuela from the south of the island. Aruba airport also offer frequent return flights to the other (ABC) islands, such as Bonaire & Curacao. Its also possible to connect to most other Caribbean islands & south America too (Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama & Suriname). Never take any notice of weather forecasts for Aruba as it is a very dry island with only passing short showers. Easterly trade winds provide a nice cooling influence too and average temperature are a consistent 30 degrees. Be careful with sun bathing as the UV index is very high near the equator. For young children we recommend plenty of sunscreen and Lycra clothing.

Direct flights from the UK are available from Thomson ( May until October). KLM from November to April. For the North American market many flight options are available, including (Jet blue) which is an economical option connecting Aruba, Miami and JFK on a regular basis.

Unlike most Caribbean islands the water is safe to drink straight from the tap!

You can make your holiday as busy as you like or as chilled out as you like. Remember everything is run at a different pace...Island time!

Everything we needed!

The condo was spotless, well equipped with necessary kitchen supplies, and plenty of room for our family of 6. Those who manage the condo were very helpful and resolved a toilet leak very quickly. The owner Richard called to check on our stay as well. It's positioned near 2 very nice pools and very near to great beaches as well. We were very happy with our stay.

We’ll be back!

Just here on our last day of a 10 day Aruban vacation, absolutely excellent! This townhouse has everything you need. The beach chairs and cooler were great for the beach everyday. The community pool was 30 feet from the door and always had chairs available.

Just 2 negatives...the uncomfortable beds and sofas..but we did sleep and made the sofas work.

We loved the condo, it was perfect for our family of 4.

The condo was clean and well equipped. We wanted a blender and one was provided for us. The only negative we found was that the beds weren’t very comfortable. We did find it necessary to rent a car. It was easier to get around and cheaper then taking taxis everywhere.

Gold Coast 68

My family of four had a great time at Gold Coast #68. The townhouse was perfect for our needs. Plenty of space and all of the comforts of home. It is the perfect place to stay if you want some peace and quiet. One of the pools is a few steps away from the townhouse and most afternoons we were the only ones there. Short drive to the beaches where we did some great snorkeling. We would definitely stay in the townhouse again when we come to Aruba!

Bad financial deal.

The good points are: nice location at Gold Coast; fast email response by the owner; fast response by the property management; nice overall property. New beach chairs provided.

The bad points are: the condo needs some fixing, the counter tops were poorly done with water infiltration possible near the sink; the planks at the bottom of the counters are not fixed and fall if you get too close; one of the shower doors is broken and was replaced by a plastic curtain; the curtain in the main bedroom is nearly transparent which lets in a lot of light at night and does not provide intimacy at night. The same case be said of the kitchen curtain. The new DVD cannot play US DVDs but Blu-Rays are OK. One of the A/C units needed repairs at the end of our stay.

The owner was receptive to the modifications that we requested to the length of our stay. We first reduced our stay from 58 to 56 days, but received no credit for the 2 days, which was expected since we were probably charged monthly rates (the invoice was not detailed). We had to modify our stay for a second time, from the original 58 days to 29 days, but received only 25% credit instead of 50% credit. The owner first asked us to contact Home Away to solve the problem. After many contacts with HomeAway and the owner, we finally learned the truth: the owner had increased its rates by about 50% between our initial reservation and the time at which we requested a shorter stay. We were charged the new rate for the month of February, instead of the rate charged when we made our reservation. The owner pretended that the new rates were lower than what was being charged by other owners. This may be true for some, but by speaking with other people that we met, we found out that our rates were approximately 50% higher.

We found out that HomeAway has no real control on the financial aspects. The cost charged by HomeAway was not reduced by 25% but remained at the full amount charged initially. The best way to reduce your stay may be to cancel your initial reservation if it is in the 100% reimbursement period and to make a new reservation. You may also take into account the currency exchange fees if applicable. My owner was extremely opaque on its rates and why we were credited so little. You may have a better experience than ours.

If it were not for the financial aspects, we would have given a rating of at least 4 stars.

Owner's Response: As owners of #68 GC we take seriously our guest appraisals. Unfortunately it would appear that your comments do not provide a true representation of the property or previous reviews, and all the happy guests that have stayed since 2011! Unfortunately you decided at the last minute to shorten your stay by 1 month and the refund was in full and in good faith which represented the 'Mid' season (March) rate. My management company work very hard to respond to guest needs, but if you do not communicate any maintenance issues then they are unable to respond. My rates are always available to view online and the seasonal rates are open, honest and easy to understand. All terms and conditions with regard to cancellation policies are very straight forward, open and honest also. Thank you for your admittance in your review that you would have provided a 4 star rating had it not been for your misunderstanding of 'High season' rental rates at Gold Coast which in the month of February are at a premium. Your stay represented a very competitive rate, inclusive of Stay Tax, BBV, All utilities wifi and free full use of club house, restaurant, bar, tennis courts, gym and 3 swimming pools! Sorry, but it is not possible to stay in Paradise on a budget!

Spacious and well equipped property.

Gold Coast was quiet, well maintained and the other people I met at Gold Coast while on vacation, were friendly which added to making the whole holiday more enjoyable.

The rental home was spacious and very well equipped with all necessary mod cons. This was great because I enjoy cooking, and the fridge had ample room for my shopping, and the oven was of a high standard, which any chef always appreciates.

There is also a pool not far from the rental home - ideal for those lazy days :-)

If you're an active type you can hire a bike from just down the main road and then peddle to the beach or into town.

Aruba is a small island, approx 19 miles long by 9 miles wide and so nowhere is far! North of the island is more dedicated to tourism and all the associated facilities. Whereby the south of the island provides a more traditional Caribbean culture. Security is excellent and the local people are so very friendly. The North coast is more rugged and isolated but good for walking or mountain biking and the south coast has more tourist development and facilities. There is a regular carnival in St Nicholas every Thursday evening and be sure to try a few local fish restaurants such as (Zee Rover & Flying fishbone). Plenty of watersports activities are available at nearby Palm beach, so be sure to bring your snorkel & flippers. The Palm Beach (rated top 10 beaches in the world) area has many beautiful restaurants and cocktail bars, taking a stroll on the boardwalk is highly recommended or watch the sun go down with a 'happy hour' cocktail at Pelican Pier or Boogaloos....you'll soon fall in love with the island!
