Elmtrees cottage is a modern end terrace property, which has been recently refurbished and redecorated by its new owners. It is located next to the Harlyn Inn and across the road from the magnificent blue flag Harlyn Bay. There is safe parking immediately outside the house for two cars and more parking is available in the Inn car park next door. The house has a safe enclosed gravelled garden which is walled on two sides and accessed by the side gate or through the patio doors in the kitchen diner. At the front of the house is a small porch and front door into the entrance hall. Leading from this is a WC and door leading into the open plan lounge. There is ample seating, 55" wall mounted smart TV and Blu-Ray player and the house boasts excellent WiFi connection. Leading from that is a very well equipped kitchen diner, with electric oven and hob, washer dryer, dishwasher and microwave cooker. The house sleeps 6 people with 3 bedrooms. The large master double has wardrobes, storage and an en-suite walk in shower. Bedroom two is another double bedroom with wardrobe and storage. The third bedroom has bunk beds and storage. The good sized family bathroom has a bath and shower over it. Guests are provided with bed linen and bathroom towels but are requested to provide own beach towels and throws for dogs. A stair gate can be provided for children's safety. Rates include all gas and electric. Non smokers only. More than one dog by prior arrangement only.

I have been coming to this gorgeous beach since I was a toddler, and I still do. My Family and our dog spend so much time in Harlyn we want to share it with other families and their dogs.

Why Mrs Kim Sampson chose Saint Merryn

Our house is set across the road from the wonderful Harlyn bay. This beach is magical, it is a wide expanse of soft fine golden sand with rock pools and caves flanking either side. You don't have to get in the car and drive or pay parking fees, just pop out of the door and walk 2 mins, or less, to be on the beach. Dogs are welcome on the beach as well as in our property, which is unusual in North Cornwall. There is so much to do, explore or sit and watch, that you will never be bored. Our property has been recently refurbished and decorated to create a bright, relaxing base for a holiday. It has been finished to a high standard and never fails to make us smile!

What makes this house unique

This property is a modern, bright and airy open plan house. It is uniquely positioned on the beach meaning that you can pop back for that forgotten towel, or take the dog for an evening stroll, without any stress. There is parking directly outside the house, and the very secure garden is accessed from the side gate or patio window.

Beach sports are very well catered for. Surf school on the beach can provide tuition in surfing, kayaking etc. Also excellent for snorkelling, fishing and sailing. Super walking in vicinity.

The cottage was beyond expectation well designed throughout and full of homely comforts

The cottage is in a fantastic location right on the doorstep of a lovely stretch of beach and not far away from other bays to enjoy. Padstow is also only a short drive away which is a fantastic place to visit and has lots to offer.

Elmstree cottage is a lovely place to stay and our family thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will definitely visit again.

Lovely modern dog friendly property

As soon as we arrived we knew instantly we were going to have a lovely weeks holiday at Elmstrees cottage, very clean and homely, on arrive we also had the pleasure of fresh flowers and doggie treats, it's usually very difficult to find a property of this standard that except dogs! And just a 2 minute walk to Harlyn bay, We will certainly be going back :)

Harlyn Bay has a stunning wide sandy beach which is family and dog friendly. It caters for surfers and other water sport enthusiasts yet has plenty of space for children to explore and play in this idyllic location. There are many rock pool opportunities for the inquisitive. Close by is the Harlyn Inn and Food for Thought caterers for food and liquid refreshments. Further afield there are 6 other beautiful beaches within a miles drive or walk over the stunning cliff tops. The nearest Village is St Merryn and 3 miles away is Padstow a well known must-visit location. It is an historic, picturesque working harbour and is also home to several excellent restaurants and shops. It is also the beginning of the Camel Trail, superb for flat safe walking or cycling to Wadebridge. Other must sees are The Eden Project, Lost gardens of Heligan, Tintagel and Boscastle. For Doc Martin fans visit nearby Port Isaac and try to catch a glimpse of filming there. There are opportunities for fishing, deep sea or otherwise, golf playing, horse riding, walking and cycling all within 5 miles of Harlyn. There are numerous historic houses locally, owned by the National Trust and English Heritage. For those needing more lively entertainment then Newquay is the place to visit. If you wish to visit art galleries and potteries then St Ives, St Agnes and Port Isaac are good places to start. Truro is the nearest city and is a friendly historic destination. If you are happy to venture further afield then Penzance, St Michaels Mount, Redruth and Bude are all great places to visit.
