Lovely, well equipped cottage, if a little dated

  • 4 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised by this spacious cottage which the photos didn't really do justice. I suspect not many people go there in the depths of winter and the heating could have been done with being turned on a day or two before we arrived as it was really cold for the first 36 hours of our four day stay. Well equipped kitchen - apart from the usual few chipped plates - but the batterie de cuisine was excellent. There was a broken blind and cooker extractor, but nothing that would ruin our stay. We had a great New Year there.

Set in a quiet and pretty hamlet in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, this is a perfect base for exploring the glorious beaches, coastal paths and circular walks that make this part of the world so special. The area also has excellent access to outdoor activities, including surfing, coasteering, kayaking and sea fishing. For those less actively minded, discover the art scene and café cultures of nearby Solva and St Davids, or visit some truly lovely historic buildings (St Davids Cathedral and the Bishop's Palace being just two of them). Or you could just chill out in our lovely gardens.
