Friendly welcoming and cosy

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay. Very quiet and relaxed. The owners were friendly and welcoming but also respect your privacy. Even gave us a gift of some fresh eggs from their chucks.

Would definitely return, plenty to do around the area and very peaceful at the lodge if your looking for a solitary little haven to relax in.

Cheddleton Railway is walking distance and the flint mill is a short drive with a lovely walk along the canal.

I plan to return to the lodge again in the summer to recuperate after an adrenaline fueled day at Alton towers as it is only about 30 minutes away!

Lovely relaxing break

We had a lovely time on New Year's Eve with our 2 dogs. The lodge is well equipped and set in a beautiful quiet location with walks and pubs in all directions.

Very pleasant stay

  • 5 of 5

We found the cottage really convenient to have our own space whilst visiting family in the area. Warm even in winter, and despite being on the ground of the owners house, barely saw them and felt quite private. Would stay again! Only minor downside was struggled to pick up wifi a little but other than that it was great!

Wonderful, relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my partner had a lovely time at Churnet Lodge. The property is beautifully decorated and furnished. We were worried we wouldn't know what sights to see but luckily Kerry pointed us in the right direction! Would recommend Churnet Lodge to anyone and would love to revisit!
