Very pleasant stay

  • 5 of 5

We found the cottage really convenient to have our own space whilst visiting family in the area. Warm even in winter, and despite being on the ground of the owners house, barely saw them and felt quite private. Would stay again! Only minor downside was struggled to pick up wifi a little but other than that it was great!

Wonderful, relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my partner had a lovely time at Churnet Lodge. The property is beautifully decorated and furnished. We were worried we wouldn't know what sights to see but luckily Kerry pointed us in the right direction! Would recommend Churnet Lodge to anyone and would love to revisit!

Good base for 2 people to explore the area

  • 5 of 5

Churnet Lodge is a good base for 2 people and 2 dogs to explore the area. We used it to go to the New Vic theatre (30 minutes away) in Stoke on Trent. Lodge is living/dining/kitchen area plus a bathroom and bedroom - fine for 2 people. Be aware that there is a working dairy farm next door - so some noise at times, but liveable with. Little Moreton Hall, Biddulph Grange gardens, Quarry Bank Mill, Churnet Valley railway and the railway at Rudyard lake are all worth visiting.

Lovely Property

  • 5 of 5

This was a great weekend, property was secure and spotlessly clean, everything you needed for self catering but can also eat in local pubs, Churnet Valley Steam Railway is 5 minutes walk for property, had a great afternoon travelling on the train, includes 2 stops were you can get off and rejoin next train. Property is also convenient for the Market town of Leek.
