"Popeye's" is a bright, sunny, small holiday flat with fabulous views across Salcombe, the estuary, and the countryside beyond. Our flat is just a short and largely level walk away from Batson Creek, the boat park, Island Street "Maritime Quarter" and the town centre. It can accommodate up to four people, but is perfect for couples or small families.

We have refurbished the apartment during the first few months of 2017 (listed for the first time in April 2016) and it includes a light and airy open-plan kitchen and sitting area, two bedrooms (one double, one twin) and a lovely, sunny balcony with excellent views of the town and estuary. The property also benefits from an off-road parking space. A garage may also be available.

Accommodation includes:

Open plan sitting area and kitchen, with two sofas, TV (+ DVD) and a radio. Kitchen is equipped with a Bosch electric induction hob, cooker, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, toaster. and cafetieres. There is seating for four around the kitchen table.

1 double bedroom, duck-feather duvet, hanging rail/shelves, bedside lights

1 twin room, duck-feather duvets, drawers, shelves.

2 toilets across 2 bathrooms: one with over-bath shower with fully enclosed shower screen, sink, WC and heated towel rail; the other has a sink and washing machine with ample shelving for suitcases etc

Inner porch with small space to hang coats and store shoes

Please also note:

Hot water is by a timed immersion heater ( new system)and modern storage heaters keep the flat warm and cosy.

Wi-fi ( fibreoptic). Smart TV and bluetooth radio.

The apartment is not suitable for pets and is non-smoking.

Parking is provided for one car in the private area in front of the apartment (permit provided). A small garage under the apartment is also available ( contact the owner), ideal for a boat, v small car or just for hanging wet suits!

In the bedrooms, duvet, pillows and bed linen are provided, but we ask that guests bring their own towels.

In high season, we generally let Saturday-Saturday, but please contact the owner if you would like to discuss alternative arrangements.

Tea, coffee, milk and sugar sachets are provided to all our guests. Salt and pepper are in the cupboard. We provide toilet rolls, washing liquid, dishwash tablets and a tea towel. There are books, games and DVDs in the sideboard for rainy days and a Smart TV.

Why Colleen Pope chose Salcombe

We have lived in the local area for over twenty years and before that we spent many holidays in Salcombe. Our family of three children have grown up here and learned to sail in the Salcombe estuary. The area holds a special place in our hearts. This apartment is beautifully located in a quiet residential area, near the Batson Boat Creek; part of Salcombe we love. Having Its own car parking is a great advantage too. It is is a lovely short stroll into the town along Island Street maritime quarter.

What makes this apartment unique

"Popeyes" has a lovely sunny aura about it and the balcony is a great place to have breakfast.

(Lookout for our very tame robin who may join you on the balcony!).

The apartment is in a lovely location, ideal all year round and for exploring the beautiful coastline on the doorstep. The beautiful countryside of the South Hams, its towns and villages surround us and Dartmoor is close by. In every season there is so much to do and see. Lovely apartment.

Popeye’s is a lovely, well appointed apartment in a nice quiet location very convenient for the town. It has a nice private balcony (sun in the morning) with very pleasant views over the estuary. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable holiday stay and the little treats the owners leave are a welcome personal touch. We would have no hesitation in booking again.

Great accommodation and location

The apartment was easy to find, with parking right outside and a great location. The accommodation had everything as described and the views of the estuary were amazing, many times I was caught just staring aimlessly out of the windows.

A nice stroll from the apartment and down Island Street past the various boat sheds, gin distillery, craft shops and gallery lead to the estuary and then to town. This route was walked daily and thoroughly enjoyable.

We plan to return to Salcombe in the summer months and wouldn't hesitate staying here again.

much smaller than pictures portray, but lovely cosy living room and kitchen area.

This small apartment is suited to two people as space in the 2 bedrooms is limited! we used one as a dressing room and for luggage etc..

Easy walking to town. nice walks on across on the small ferry to E. Portlemouth.. Colleen very attentive to your questions. one suggestion would be to reverse the front door so that you can get in!

Fantastic apartment, good views, well equipped

We had a brilliant holiday in salcombe, the apartment was fantastic. Great views, great location, walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go in salcombe. Perfect size for 2 adults and 2 children (age 3 and 5). Very well equipped, with lots of extras, most equipped kitchen we have seen for a holiday rental. The owner is very responsive to messages and answered very quickly. Would highly recommend the apartment, owner and salcombe.

In the area there is so much to do and so many places to go. Salcombe is close to kingsbridge, Dartmouth, bigbury-on-sea, Torquay, plymouth. We managed to explore the area well from salcombe. Great holiday all round.

Perfect location

We had a lovely holiday in Popeyes. the location is perfect- a very short walk into the centre of town and almostly entirely on the flat, which must be unusual for Salcombe! The flat is compact but there was plenty of room for the three of us. The kitchen was well equipped.

We were able to spend most of the week in and around Salcombe- only using the car on two occasions to go further afield, but may have used it more if the weather hadn't been so good. Thank goodness for the Salcombe micro climate!
