About Mrs Claire Ensor

I have lived in London since 1974, and in West Kensington since 1984. I used to work in computer marketing and had to travel a lot for my job. So I know what it's like to be away from home! For the last ten years I worked as a travel agent. I also have two holiday homes in the Cape Verde Islands, and have experience letting property on a long term basis as well as holiday lets. I am a member of the Residential Landlord's Association and EASCO. I have two dogs, whom I rescued personally from the Cape Verde Islands.

Why Mrs Claire Ensor chose West Kensington

This apartment has been owned by us for over 30 years and latterly was let on a long term basis to tenants who stayed 1-2 years. It is also ideal for a holiday let, for the same reasons as we chose the area, as holiday makers also benefit from the excellent location and transport links and all the facilities within the local area at a reasonable price. We are just one metro stop away from zone one.

What makes this apartment unique

Victorian architecture - this is a truly English apartment and has a warm cosy feel to it. Nearly everything in it is British - from the curtains, furniture, china to the original Victorian working fireplace. It is spacious and the large amount of wood makes it homely. We welcome well behaved dogs and can advise on pet travel within and from outside Europe.

West Kensington is a vibrant area where many working Londoners live. There is a swimming pool, gym, dry cleaners, launderette, grocery super markets which are open from early til late, take-aways, restaurants, cafes, pubs, nail bars, hair dressers, very close by. If you don't want to cook, you don't have to!

comfortable, welcoming

This was a wonderful place to stay. The flat is conveniently located for travel on the underground. The owner was gracious and welcoming. We enjoyed eating at the local pub, but also were able to cook for ourselves, and to enjoy all of London from our home base.

Fabulous, Spacious & Well Located Flat in London

We had a fabulous 2 week stay here in July 2016. The flat is very conveniently located, being easy walking distance of 2 Tube Stations - Barons Court (Piccadilly Line) & West Kensington (District Line). Claire & James were extremely helpful & kind with information about the surrounding area. Local supermarkets, cafes & restaurants are all just a few minutes walk away.

The flat is extremely spacious & comfortable and exceptionally clean. With a lovely bathroom and a very well appointed kitchen (dishwasher, appliances, crockery etc). We will definitely love to stay here again on our next visit to London.

Great Location and Comfortable Living

I am a Professor from the University of Melbourne here on study leave with my 18 year old daughter and we have regretted only renting this flat for a month as it is in a very convenient location, is spacious and is cheaply priced relative to inner city London prices. Also Claire is a responsive and caring landlord who has her guests' welfare at heart. For example, she provided a welcome pack of food goodies and ensured we were comfortably settled upon arrival.

The bedroom is very spacious and the futon in the living area is comfortable. The kitchen appliances (including dishwasher), plates, bed linen and towels are all in excellent condition making living easy. There are about four supermarkets in short walking distance which cater for lazy cooks like me with pre-marinated meat options and pre-cut veggie selections so we have eaten healthy, making good use of the oven and stove top. Will certainly be looking to re-rent this basement flat in years to come when I need to stay in London!

Cozy, well-equipped flat - great value for money!

We had a lovely 3-week stay here in June. Our hosts were very kind and extremely helpful with information about the surrounding area and amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped, so we were able to easily make meals at the flat. Many shops and restaurants within easy walking distance as well. Near two tube stops, and two separate lines, so convenient location for both Heathrow and central London. Compared to similar properties elsewhere in London, the value for money was great. We had two small pets with us, and our hosts were extremely pet friendly and welcoming of the animals. Lovely residential neighbourhood.

Owner's Response: The time you were here really flew by. We welcome dogs and cats, and know how difficult it can be to find suitable accommodation. When we travel across Europe with our 2 dogs, sometimes they have to sleep in the car when the hotels won't accept them. We put maps, guides and cycle routes in the flat to assist those new to the area, and we're always happy to answer any questions about London, having lived here for over thirty years. It's hard to leave the West Kensington/Barons court area for all the reasons you state!

Cosy flat in Baron's Court

I stayed here a few years ago with a friend. It's a nice, small flat -- though quite spacious by London standards. It's cosy in the winter. It's conveniently located about five minutes walk from both West Kensington on the District Line and Baron's Court on the Piccadilly Line, both in Zone 2. That makes it easy to get to the West End, or the City if you are working there as I was. It's ten or 15 minutes walk from Earl's Court. The buses aren't so good, unless you want to get to High Street Kensington. It's a nice area with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. There are also several small parks nearby.

The flat only has one bedroom, so it would be best for a couple, two friends who get on well, someone on their own or perhaps a family with younger children for a short stay. The owners are pet lovers, so this would be good for dog owners as not all landlords welcome pets.

Owner's Response: Glad you liked the flat. It is by local standards, spacious for a one bedroom flat, as most of the same size around us have been converted into two bedrooms. We chose furnishings to make it as a home, and the fireplace adds a warm glow in the winter. I use the bus quite a lot - along Lillie Road there are several going towards Putney and Oxford Street, and along North End Road the buses take you to north London via High Street Kensington on a 28 or to Richmond on a 391. And from Olympia which is about 10 minutes walk, there is lots of choice - 9, 10, 27 etc. When the traffic is busy, the tube is quicker but not so good for sight seeing.

Flat in Fulham

I stayed in this flat with some friends. It is very well placed for going out locally, with lots of nice bars and restaurants, and close to the underground for getting to Chelsea and the Kings Road or the centre of London very quickly. The flat is well presented, with a good kitchen and bathroom and comfortable bed. There is lots of space in the sitting room. This is a great bolt hole for exploring the city. I would recommend this to others and stay here again.
