Overview

About the property

A modern ,architect designed cottage , sleeping four.

Maple Cottage, sleeping four, is situated in quiet Wiltshire countryside close to the historic National Trust village of Lacock and about 12 miles from the World Heritage City of Bath.

The architect-designed holiday cottage is located in the grounds of our own barn next to two other similar cottages (Chestnut and Cherry) and features exposed oak beams, a galleried upper twin bedroom as well as a downstairs double bedroom and shower room. The upstairs bedroom is accessed by steep stairs with a handrail on either side

The cottage has a tiled, open plan kitchen, living and dining area with French doors at the front opening out on to a small patio area with garden furniture and barbecue.

The Shaker style kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker with oven, dishwasher and microwave.

The double bedroom downstairs has plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The shower room with wash basin and WC is also downstairs. Steep stairs with a handrail on either side lead to a mezzanine galleried twin-bedded room with a wooden floor. This is not suitable for unsupervised young children but older children love it.

The cottage shares a separate utility room containing a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer . All heating ,electricity and hot water is included in the tariff as is all bed linen, towels and tea-towels. There is private, off-road parking adjacent to the cottage.

Bookings start on a Friday (3 nights or 7 nights ) or a Monday (4 nights or 7 nights)

About Jane Walters

I grew up in London and was an accountant before moving to the South West in the early 1990s with my husband , who was then an IT contractor. We bought a derelict Barn and converted it into our family home while also having three children. The cottages were built on the site of some old farm sheds and Chestnut and Maple opened in 2006 followed by Cherry in 2009.

We love runing the holiday cottages and meeting our guests

Jane Walters purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Jane Walters chose Chippenham

Maple was designed by our architect , Nick, who also designed our barn, to resemble a mini barn conversion. It is light and airy but the two sofas facing each other in the living area make it feel cosy too. The galleried living area gives a sense of space and as I am really hands on with the changeovers you can be sure of cleanliness and attention to detail

What makes this cottage unique

Great cottage and location for holiday , business, hen parties and reunions ( groups of up to 12 when booked with Chestnut and Cherry.)
