Ideal for retired couples looking to discover Cascais. Also great for family with two small children. Baby essential packages available (cot, chair, buggy etc) so you don't have to bring it all on holiday.

BBQ facilities available in a stone faced terrace area with outdoor seating area and pallet lounger. Evening spot lights for a romantic scene or simply to read a book under the stars.

Open plan dining area and living area overlooking cast iron enclosed fireplace for romantic evenings during the winter. WiFi available throughout apartment and FREE. Hot water always supplied. Winter heating supplied and better than most apartments. Parking directly outside the property.

Cosy bedroom with wardrobe, bedside tables and memory foam double mattress. An additional small double memory foam mattress is available for up to 2 children (mas 12 years old).

Kitchen fully equipped with toaster, coffee machine, kettle and washing machine.

Bathroom newly renovated including a walk in mosaic base shower unit.

About Andrew Pendlebury

I am Portuguese by Nationality. Working as an estate and letting agent in the UK I have come to appreciate how important quality of life is. This was one of my main reasons to pack up and move to Portugal - the slower pace of life feels like a healthy way to live.

Why Andrew Pendlebury chose Cascais

It was important for us to be in a prime area. The apartment is located in Cascais (3km, 7 minute drive to centre) and has easy access to shops, public transport, airport (easy access to motorway which is just over 2km away), beaches and plenty to do for some outdoor adventures. Saying this, we chose this particular part of Cascais due to it's friendly neighborhood and quiet surroundings. We also chose this area because we like the outdoors and have so many things right by our door step. We are also close to the coast where we love going for walks and bike rides on the bike paths.

What makes this apartment unique

Being central to many locations around Cascais, the apartment offers great variety and choice of activities. Firstly, Cascais and the immediate surrounding areas (Guincho, 5km, 12min drive) have some very impressive picturesque beaches. Cascais offers many daytime activities (Segways, Rent-free bicycles, sailing expeditions, etc) while also accommodating animal lovers with horse riding clubs. The Cascais Marina includes bars/cafes/restaurants and nice walks around some quite large and expensive yachts! We also have some excellent restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. Cascais is known for a good night life, both for eating out and enjoying the warm evenings later on into the night. Sintra (30 minutes) offers fantastic mountainous views and many historical castles.

A wonderful relaxed stay in a cosy appartment with very nice hosts.

It was a nice and cosy, comfortable appartment. A warmly decorated livingroom with a separate diningroom. A separate kitchen with everything you can possibly need. Also a nice bathroom. A quiet bedroom with a good bed. There is also a nice sit outside.

Andrew and his wife were lovely hosts. They even surprised us when we arrived with some nice snacks and a bottle of wine and port. What a welcome. The appartment is close to some restaurants and not far (can even walk) to the boulevard at the ocean side. Very nice to stroll along. Cascais center is nearby and lovely. We went to Lisbon by train, very convenient.

We also went to see all the castles in the surroundings.

So all we can say, IT WAS A VERY NICE STAY WITH ANDREW AND SARAH.

Cosy, friendly and nice patio

The apartment is cosy and had everything we needed. Hosts were great, gave us great detail about the surrounding areas and found much information on their website. Outside area is great although weather did not permit much use. I am sure summer evenings are great out there!

Coast/Beach:

Cascais is a cosmopolitan seaside town of tree lined promenades with lovely beaches. There are a number of local beaches in Cascais and Estoril, ideal for children. It takes 15 mins to walk to the coast or you can hire a bike locally. There is a good coastal cycle path/road from Cascais to Guincho. Both beaches are 5 minutes drive away. Guincho is well known for its windsurfing, courses can be arranged at the beach. It's a stunning 2-3 kilometre sandy beach.

Travel:

Nearest airport is Lisbon Airport it's about a 30 minute drive at approximately 20km. Pick up and drop off at the airport can be arranged upon request. Easyjet, TAP, and British Airways all fly into Lisbon. A car is not necessary. The train takes you into Lisbon via Estoril, in clean, modern air-conditioned trains - which are always on time!

Local shops include cafes, restaurants, banks, hairdressers, pharmacy, health shop, groceries and a supermarket all are within a few minutes walking distance from the apartment. There is also a bus stop round the corner that will take you 6 minutes into the center of Cascais, where you will find a variety of cafes and restaurants.

Cascais and the surrounding areas are the perfect get away for any relaxed and enjoyable holiday.

The all year positive weather makes staying here in the summer holidays or in fact the winter season equally enjoyable with a variety of activities throughout the year.

Cascais offers a fantastic city break, yet only 40 minutes on a very pleasant coastal train ride into Lisbon.

The region has many beaches, ranging from family orientated to other more Windsurfing style beaches for people who enjoy water sports.

Cascais has great day and evening entertainment, with the summer season hosting a variety of concerts and outdoor events.

The area has very good running, cycling and general outdoor activities, making it the perfect all round destination for a sunny holiday.

Sintra hills, a mountainous region minutes away by car provides perfect walks, views, picnic afternoons and also many castles/monasteries to visit. Information about these are provided in the apartment.
