Overview

About the property

A two bedroom cottage which sleeps 4 people, one double, one twin bedroom.

This is a lovely cosy period style cottage built in the last fifteen years. It is right in the heart of Hay-on-Wye , which has more second hand bookshops than anywhere else in Britain, and is the venue for the world famous Hay literary festival held in May and June every year. The town also has great antique shops, cafes and restaurants, pubs and shops. The area is famous for walking as the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are nearby. And with the River Wye on the doorstep, fishing is both available and excellent.

Warm and cozy cottage within easy walk to the town.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Linton Cottage, with my partner our dog and my mother in her 80s. It was excellent place to stay with all the facilities you would need, but also within an easy walk to all the attractions of the town, even my mother made plenty of excursions in to the town. Hay is a beautiful small town with plenty of attractions but also loads of public footpaths which we enjoyed exploring with our dog. We can highly recommend this charming cottage.

Lovely Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Linton Cottage is lovely and larger than we imagined. We had a glorious week of sunshine so we were able to sit in the pretty garden or in the conservatory with the doors and windows open. We would also like to comment on the helpfulness of the owner, particularly regarding the fishing!!

Thank you once again.

Warm, cosy and well appointed and equipped cottage in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for a week in February 2018 and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, the town and the beautiful surrounding countryside. It was a treat to be able to return, after a bracing day's walking in the hills, to such a warm and cosy base. A bonus was the fact that the cottage is a short stroll from some very nice pubs, restaurants, cafes and of course the famous bookshops. Our favourite restaurant was St John's Place - a little gem. We went to Richard Booth's luxury cinema one evening. Altogether a great holiday. We will return.

Very cosy, warm cottage, in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfy and it was lovely & warm. The location couldn't have been better as it was in walking distance of the town & the venues I wanted to visit.

Lovely cottage, great location

  • 4 of 5

The best thing about this cottage is the location. It is just off the high street and so all the pubs, cafes and shops are within walking distance. Around the corner you will find a lovely river walk.
