On the first floor is a 1 bedroom suite of rooms with ensuite bathroom, a dining/day room and fully equipped kitchen for quality and comfortable self catering accommodation for up to 4 persons

An Aldi supermarket is just a stone's throw away as is Swan Meadow alongside the River Gavenny and ideal for that early morning walk. Castle Meadows, alongside the River Usk is just 5 minutes away and provides for those longer walks. The Abergavenny visitor centre is a 2 minute walk away and can provide details of local activities, events and facilities

With over 1,000 miles of public footpaths to explore, plenty of cycle tracks and a reputation as the food and drink capital of Wales, Monmouthshire is located between the Brecon Beacons and the Wye Valley, with excellent transport links making it an accessible and attractive destination for visitors from all directions.

About John Vincent

Mair and her husband John are Welsh and originally from South Wales. When our family were very young we worked overseas for about 15 years before settling back to the UK . We had a home in Cowbridge then Bristol and some 18 years ago moved back to Wales and choose Abergavenny as our final resting place. Abergavenny is full of culture and tradition, and there is much to look at and to explore within easy walking distance of the town centre. Walking is thirsty work - there's plenty of watering holes in the middle of the town to choose from!

Ryvington House gave us the period house we were looking for ticked all the boxes in respect of being able to walk to the town centre,bus and rail stations, supermarket, pub and take away!

What makes this apartment unique

A house full of character yet spacious and comfortable and I simply repeat above of being able to walk to the town centre, bus and rail stations, supermarket, pub and take away! But we also have a riverside walk along Swan Meadow which is across the road and also longer riverside walks along the Usk and is just 5 minutes away

Home Away from Home

Tucked into a quiet street, this accommodation suited us very well! Owners are not only helpful and pleasant, but always ready to help with anything. A paper with breakfast items was left everyday so we could decide what we wanted for the following day - nice surprise! We had our own kitchen and sitting room, plus bedroom and large bathroom.....very nice! Convenient to train, buses and downtown area, including Abergavenney Castle and walks.

Perfect location to stay and explore Abergavenny

Fantastic location in Abergavenny. Very spacious and comfortable suite of rooms on first floor with each of the two double bedrooms having their own bathroom. A small but functional kitchen with washing machine and a cosy sitting room with TV. Plenty of pubs and places to eat within a 5 minute walk. No parking outside but pay & display at main bus station which is within 100 yards so not a problem. Took the bus to Big Pit which is a real coal mine and one of Britain's leading mining museums and there is no entrance fee.

Amazing number of historic castles within an hour's drive and also the ancient Roman town of Caerleon is worth a visit. Had an amazing stay, Mair & John, the owners, were so welcoming, friendly and provided advice and information that made for a special holiday in Wales. Perfect location and great value for money! Would definitely stay again!
