About the property

4 Bedroom Villa with private heated pool and garden in village location.

Villa Moricq is located on the edge of the small village of Moricq, only a short walk from the bustling town of Angles. The village has a bar and shop quite close by, and a 5 minute walk will bring you to the bakery, supermarket and a restaurant. The villa is only a 10 minute drive to the beach at Les Conches - well known for its great waves, body boarding and long stretches of sand.

The villa has a gated driveway leading up to the house and private parking for at least 4 cars.

Inside there is a large lounge with patio doors out to the sun terrace and swimming pool. There are leather recliner chairs and a 3 seater sofa, along with a large flat screen TV with UK and French free-to-air TV channels. A separate TV lounge is off to one side, and here you will find a red leather corner sofa, TV, DVD player and a selection of films. Wi-Fi internet access is available in the house.

The dining room leads off from the lounge and has a glass dining table and chairs for 6 guests. This also has access to the patio area.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric built in oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge, kettle, toaster and coffee maker. There is a further dining table and chairs in the kitchen, and a utility room to the side which houses the washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.

The villa has four bedrooms; one double bedroom on the ground floor (with en suite shower room and walk in wardrobe), and one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms on the first floor.

A second large shower room and WC is located on the first floor. There is also a separate WC on the ground floor.

Outside, the large gardens (2000m²) are mainly laid to lawn and are fenced in on all sides. A great space for the children to run around and play! The 8m x 4m heated pool is open from May until the end of September each year and it has an electric roll on/off security cover for the safety of your children. An added feature of the swimming pool is the spa bath that is located at the shallow end.

There is a large terraced area to the rear of the villa - with a patio table and chairs for al fresco dining and a large awning that can provide welcome shade from the heat of the sun. The terrace faces south and is in full sun all day. There are a selection of sun loungers and comfortable chairs in which to relax and sunbathe.

The villa is very child friendly - with stair gates, a high chair, a cot, a changing station, a bed for younger children and lots of toys to play with.

The villa would also be suitable for guests with limited mobility, as there is a double bedroom, shower and toilet on the ground floor. (not suitable for wheelchair users)

All bed linens and towels (hand, bath and tea) are provided, but please bring your own beach/pool towels.

Why Annette Khan chose Angles

Diane & Stuart bought Villa Moricq in 2015 as they loved the location and ease of transport to and from the UK. They visited the area for holidays a few years ago when their children were younger, and now that they have grandchildren, they decided to buy a good-sized holiday home that all of the family can use.

They loved the pool and flat lawned garden - great for letting the grand kids run around in. They also like the idea that although the villa is located on the edge of a small village, shops and restaurants are only a few minutes walk or drive away. The beaches were also a good draw to the area - a 10 minute drive away and you can relax and enjoy the long sandy beach at Les Conches, or be more energetic and surf or body board in the great waves! So much to do!

When the property owners are not using the villa themselves, they have decided to rent it out - using Annette Khan to manage all of the booking process.

What makes this house unique

The Villa has everything that you would need for a relaxing family holiday! The children are catered for with a heated private pool and large garden, and the adults have plenty of space to relax and enjoy a glass or two of the local wines.

The nearby town of Angles has lots of little shops and restaurants, and holds a large street market every week during the summer - there's always something going.

If you prefer a quieter holiday away from it all, then there are lots of lovely country walks and cycle paths nearby where you will see lots of local wildlife - herons, cranes, coypu and swans.

We stayed in this villa in Aug 2016 as a group of 6 adults and 4 children.

We couldn't have asked for a better equipped villa, especially for young children! We had everything we needed, from cots and play pens to toys and pool inflatables.

The space was fantastic, more than enough for the 10 of us.

We spent most of our day in the pool area and huge garden using the BBQ, both the kids and adults had a fantastic time.

The house was very comfortable and again had everything we needed.

The tabac (local shop) and intermarche (supermarket) are within a few minutes walking distance and provide all essentials, plus the local pizzeria was an added bonus!

A fab villa in a great location, the beach is huge and only a 10 min drive to la Tranche sur mer with so many restaurants and shops!!

We will 100% be booking another trip for next year.

Villa Moricq is located in the small village of Moricq on the flat wetland plains of the Coastal Vendée area of western France. The village is famous for its fortified tower that dates back to the early middle ages. The exterior of this tower has recently been restored and now sits in a pleasant picnic area, just a short walk from the villa.

The nearby town of Angles has a bustling centre, with weekly street markets in the summer, lots of local shops (bakery, butchers, hairdressers, tabac etc..) and several restaurants (pizzeria, grill, seafood), not to mention a wine seller/cave where you can taste the local wines before buying (very good value for money)!

The beach and coastline is only a 10km drive from Angles and this is the main attraction for the area. Miles of sandy beaches stretch in both directions - with great waves for surfing and bodyboarding, beaches with rock pools and lots of space to relax and get a sun tan. Some of the beaches have entertainment laid on in the summer months and most have lifeguards on duty. The seaside towns of La Tranche sur Mer and La Faute sur Mer are less than 15 minutes away, and here you will find lots of souvenir shops, bars, restaurants, and great ice cream!

Within a 15 minute drive of the villa is a karting track, a Chateau with a treasure trail through the grounds and chateau, an Indian Forest Adventure Park where you can fly through the trees on zip wires, ride ponies, play on the water attractions or picnic in the forest. For a more leisurely day out, there is the Jardins du Court d’Aron at St Cyr en Talmondais - great for young children - with an area for young animals to pet, tranquil walks around the large parkland area and summer shows with a Polynesian theme.

The Old Port of La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré are within an hours’ drive - great for eating out - with pretty harbours and winding streets. La Rochelle has lots of festivals and street entertainment every evening in summer.

Further afield is the Marais Poitevin Regional Park - with miles of canals and pretty riverside villages - a relaxing day out - punting on the rivers and exploring the ruined abbeys nearby.

No visit to the Vendée would be complete without a trip to the Puy du Fou Theme Park - with Gladiators, Vikings, Knights, Musketeers and a fantastic Bird of Prey show, not to mention the spectacular evening show with over a 1000 participants!

Payment is accepted in Sterling or Euros, by cheque or direct bank transfer.
We require a 30% deposit in order to secure the reservation, with the remaining 70% and £200 security deposit to be paid 8 weeks prior to the start date of the holiday.
If booking less than 8 weeks before the start date, then payment in full is required to secure the booking.
The security deposit will be returned within two weeks of the end of your holiday, once the property has been inspected.
