About the property

Cwm Deiliog is an idyllicdetached 200 year old cottage situated on a leafy hillside overlooking Lake Padarn and the mountains of Snowdonia. Log fire, dining/sitting room, 3 bedrooms sleeping 4/5 all with heaters, kitchen with fridge freezer, microwave, electric cooker and bathroom with bath and shower. Pretty garden and terrace with that wonderful view and garden furniture. Lots of interesting things to visit in the locality. The cottage is not on the road but 100m downhill via a concreted track (uphill on the way back!) A private parking space at the side of the quiet country road.

I do not accept dogs, so please do not ask!

About Rosie

Retired and currently residing in the Midlands

Rosie purchased this cottage in 1968

Why Rosie chose Fachwen

This cottage was discovered by my mother and renovated by my father who was a master builder, and has been maintained by me since my parents' death. My mother thought of it as her dream.

What makes this cottage unique

Probably the best view from any holiday cottage, with lots of charm from the traditional 200 year old stone built cottage

Cottage was very private and tucked away. The cottage has lots of character and the view is amazing. We would love to go back again one day.

Cosy, friendly and fantastic view!

  • 5 of 5

Really enjoyable time with great walks near to cottage and mountains around. Lovely sitting at table watching the birds on feeder and taking in the view. The drive was certainly a steep walk up to car but no doubt good for fitness levels and beautiful suroundings. We did find the cottage a little chilly in the evenings until we worked out how to get the fire going well. Great place hope to come back again

Idyllic location, stunning views.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Cwm Deiliog for 3 nights as all of our party of 4 were running the Snowdonia Marathon Eryri. The cottage was everything we needed and the view across to Snowdon was simply stunning. There was also the added bonus of the steep slope down from the road to the property providing us with the necessary post-race recovery exercise needed to get the legs moving again... Ouch!! It is a 200 year old cottage so some elements of it are basic but that is what gives it its charm; you walk into every room and it brings a smile to your face. Two of us are going to return with our families as it's all about the location and THAT view.
