Overview

About the property

Situated overlooking a lake this cosy cottage comes with wildlife as neighbours

Refurbished to a high standard in 2016 this delightful cottage is situated in a rural location with direct views onto a picturesque lake. It's one of 11 cottages on a private development and has been decorated in a modern country style by its Interior Designer owner.

With rural views back and front, and an abundance of wildlife on the lake, it will suit couples and families alike who long to escape the stresses of everyday life.

It's also ideally situated for the nearby beaches, countryside of North Norfolk, the Broads, and the seaside towns of this wonderful coast. The city of Norwich is a half hour drive away.

A key feature of the cottage is it's peaceful setting for the fishing enthusiast. Fishing is free on the 2 lakes on the adjoining property which are fenced with otter proof fencing which can be fished using the free day permits. These lakes are for the serious angler and fish include very large roach, rudd, perch and bream which run to double figures, large tench and carp.

Children need to be supervised at all times as the lake is 8ft in depth.

The accommodation offers two bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. All beds have comfortable memory foam mattresses. Bathroom: bath with shower over and heated towel rail. Lounge/kitchen/diner: with flatscreen TV and DVD player and patio doors. Kitchen area with fridge/freezer, electric oven/hob and microwave. Utility room: shared, with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside: enclosed patio with seating, with access to the lakes. Amenities: parking for 2 cars. Bed linen, towels, tea towels, electric and central heating included.

Regret no pets.

Why Carole and Colin chose East Ruston

We were first attracted to Brimstone because of its beautiful setting and peaceful ambience. Craving a bolt-hole from our busy lives we jumped at the chance of having a holiday home where we could relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of a rural location. To have a lake in the back garden teeming with wildlife was the icing on the cake and we have lovingly updated the interior to a high standard and one which we hope does the location justice.

What makes this cottage unique

Serious anglers can fish in the carp lake on the adjoining property for which licences are included in the holiday price.

A gorgeous cottage, beautifully designed in the perfect setting

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay in Norfolk. The cottage looks onto a beautiful garden / stretch of green and the river runs just meters from the back garden which we all enjoyed! There were swans and geese and fishing right there . My little one really loved the sense of freedom ! The cottage itself was very stylish and comfortable, with everything we needed and there was so much to do in the surrounding area! Norfolk is great for kids and adults. The fishery is just a two minute walk from the cottage and this was like a natural haven with an abundance of wildlife. The local pub was very friendly and accommodating. We'd love to go back when the weather warms up! Thanks for having us

Gorgeous!!

  • 5 of 5

A really lovely cottage.beautifully furnished and very well equipped.

The cottage had everything you need.

Lots of local information provided and it's in a great location for the coast and the Norfolk broads.

A great place to go out and explore the surrounding areas.

Great fishing for my son on the lake next door.he caught some big fish.

We couldn't fault anything about the place and would thoroughly recommend it for a relaxing peaceful break.

A beautifully decorated and lovingly homely cottage. More than just a holiday home.

Our stay at Brimstone Cottage was fantastic. Beautifully relaxed setting, gorgeous weather and felt very homely. Probably the nicest cottage we have ever stayed in on holiday.

Beautiful cottage in peaceful surrounding

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful little cottage in truly peaceful surroundings... it's so quiet the only sound you'll hear is the sound of birds! The cottage is tastefully decorated, the location is good (for activities in The Broads, access to Norwich, and the coast), what more can you ask for? (If I'm allowed to say, the only downside is having only one toilet in the cottage... It's not easy when you're sharing it with a husband and 2 teenagers! 😁)

Away days

  • 5 of 5

Just a 3 day away stay so wanted somewhere fairly close but away from it all and this cottage fit the bill perfectly. Beautiful location next to the lake in perfect peace and quiet (apart from the helicopters, but that's Norfolk), lovely up to date accommodation but quite central to the Broads. We had a very pleasant 3 days.
