About the property

This is a large family home, set in in the lovely medieval village of Apremont, Vendee. This house was the first village school, it is full of character. Situated in the heart of the village standing high up looking onto the castle. It is south facing, has a front court yard with parking for 2 cars and a walled in back garden with a very large sunny terrace. Calm and peaceful, Ideal for evening BBQ. There are 4 double bedrooms and a very large sitting room with high ceiling (the old cantine). Wifi, washing machine/dryer, dishwasher. Great for families, you can enjoy the beach by the lake (with life guard) and it's wake park (5 mins from the house), the restaurants, The medieval fete in the castle throughout the summer. 20 mins from the sea (saint Gilles croix de vie), 1 hour from Nantes, Noirmoutier Island and the attraction Parc Puy du fou.I deal for 2 families.

I am Jersey French, French by blood, Jersey by heart. I have spend my childhood in France and it was as one would dream. My husband and I bought this old school house as it reminded us both of our childhood, spent in little villages, where the baker and corner shop are always there to greet you. We have three children, who have been lucky to spend hours playing in the lake, cycling, late evening BBQ at home. beautiful walks chatting to each other. An amazing feel of space and lush landscapes which they need before returning to our little island and back to school!

The house was the village school built in 1895. The now sitting room was the school cantine. An amazing room of 80 square meter with High ceiling and view on the castle. It is a warm cosy home with character.

What makes this house unique

The house is up on the mont over looking the village. On one side you look onto the castle on the other the church. It as a wonderful light as it is south facing and the back garden is all private with its big terrace.
