Apartment in front of Alvor estuary, close to the beach and the village centre

This modern and lovely one bedroom apartment, located on the first floor of the private condominium "Clube Alvor Ria", with wonderful views over the Alvor estuary (natural reserve), is no more than 5-minutes walk from the Alvor fabulous beach and from the picturesque village centre.

The whole apartment is in a very good state of preservation, as new, and it is fully furnished to a high standard.

It has a spacious bedroom, with one king bed, two nightstands, a dresser with a mirror, and a built-in wardrobe with drawers.

The living room has two sleeper sofas and a dining area with four chairs.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all the apropriate machines, including hob, oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and washing machine. All these machines are very well kept. It also has a first aid box, a fire extinguisher, and a fire blanket.

The bathroom is excelent, confortable, and bright due to good lighting, including natural light from a small glass window. It has a bathtub, a sink, a toilet and a bidet, all as new. The sink is embedded in a large closet where you can store towels, toiletries and cosmetics. Above the sink there is a large mirror. The bathtub, which is separated by glass from the rest of the bathroom, has a mixer and a hand shower. The whole bathroom has hot and cold water. It also has an outlet connection suitable for the hairdryer or other electric appliances.

There is air conditioning all over the apartment (two units, one in the bedroom and another in the living area, both operated independently through remote control).

Both the bedroom and the living room have direct access to a large southwest facing balcony, full of sunlight, equipped with a table, chairs and two sun-loungers with cushions, where you can have your meals or relax in the sun, while enjoying the fabulous views.

The apartment is also equipped with an iron, a board and a clothes drying rack.

The complex, with a privileged location just in front of the Alvor estuary, has an outdoor swimming pool, just a few steps from the apartment, a large terrace with sun loungers, well kept and beautifully-landscaped comunal gardens and secure indoor private parking, including garage parking, accessed through remote control access gates.

The apartment is licensed for rental purpose as "Alojamento Local", having been inspected by the local authorities and complying with all the security requirements.

Alvor is an ancient fishing village located between Lagos and Portimão. Its rich history is reflected in some monuments, the most importante of which is the 500 years old Manueline style Church. The centre of this typical village is only a short walk away from the condominium, and there you may find a large variety of restaurants, bars, groceries, convenience stores and many other shops. The riverfront is a most idyllic place and has three bars with plenty of outside sitting. The Alvor estuary was included in the Natura 2000 network of sites, due to the presence of species and habitats considered worthy of protection at the European level. Its fabulous landscapes can be enjoyed walking through a wooden footpath built around the estuary up to the sea. The main beach, Praia de Alvor, is also just a five-minutes walk from the complex, and it is a lovely, long of three miles, sandy beach, with plenty of room to lie down and relax. There are a lot of activities on offer in and around Alvor (canoeing trips, bicycles to hire, boat or fishing trips, kitesurfing, windsurfing, etc.). At a distance of no more than 300 metres from the condominium there is the local public sports complex which includes an indoor swimming pool and tennis and basketball courts. For golf lovers, some excelent golf courses are within 5-10 minutes drive (Alto Club, Penina and Morgado Golf).

Excellent Apartment and location in Alvor

The apartment is in a good location, a few minutes from the beach and a short walk from Alvor's bars and restaurants. The location is quiet and in a gated complex with communal pool and parking.

The apartment was very clean, well maintained and spacious, with excellent facilities for self catering , plus a safe and free Wi-Fi. There was no welcome pack that some other reviewers commented on, but that was no problem for us. There are two sofa beds in addition to the one bedroom. The mattress was quite firm and the bed a standard size. A king or queen size would have been better, the room is certainly large enough. From the balcony there are views of the beach and harbour, it doesn't overlook the pool. Great for having breakfast and watching Alvor slowly come to life each day.

This is our first time to Alvor and we loved it. It has an excellent beach that was not too busy, with numerous beach bars/restaurants and the old town centre with its wide choice of restaurants and bars, plus supermarkets and convenience store. Some of the bars are lively and there are also places if you want a quiet drink, have a chat and watch the sunset.

The booking process with the owner Isabel was easy with regular communication via e-mail. We were met by Maria when we arrived who showed us around and gave us useful information. They were happy to accommodate a slightly early arrival which was very helpful for us to make the most of our first day.

We have already been recommending Alvor and Isabel's apartment to family and friends. We would return to both without hesitation.

Great apartment, great location.

This was our fourth visit to Alvor and our third time in this 'condo'. Everything about the apartment was first class. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It has a large balcony/terrace for, amongst other things, watching the beautiful sunsets. It is 'front-line' with views over the harbour, river and down to the sea. The heart of the lively (but not too lively!) village is a couple of minutes stroll away and the stunning beach a few minutes the other way. The location is ideal. Alvor is one of our favourite places - atmospheric and with a large choice of restaurants and bars to suit every taste. Both Isabel (the owner) and Maria (local agent) were both very friendly and helpful during the booking process and at the apartment. We would highly recommend both this apartment and Alvor.

Great apartment close to town centre facing beach

The apartment is ideally located within a few minutes of the beach and literally around the corner from Alvor's shops, bars and restaurants, yet still a quiet location to be in. It is in a secure gated complex with communal pool.

The apartment itself was very clean, well maintained and spacious, with excellent facilities. The apartment has everything you could expect (oven, hob, microwave, large fridge freezer, tv, iron, hairdryer etc), even free Wi-Fi and a much appreciated welcome pack with a few essentials. There are two sofa beds in addition to the one bedroom (we did find the mattress a bit too firm but that might be just us, combination of age and 'dodgy' backs !). From the balcony there are views of the beach and harbour, it doesn't overlook the pool.

We have been to Alvor 5 times now and love it for the excellent beach (never too busy) with numerous beach bars/restaurants and the old town centre with its wide choice of bars and excellent restaurants - we would recommend Ruccula (ideally book before you depart), Vagabondo and Arco Da Velha. Some of the bars are lively (it is not rowdy though) and there is also plenty of places if you want a quiet drink and people-watch.

The booking process with the owner Isabel was easy and kept in regular contact via e-mail. Upon arrival we were met by Maria who showed us around and gave us lots of useful information.

Looking forward to returning to Alvor next year.

At a distance of no more than 300 metres from the condominium, there is a local public sports centre, with an indoor swimmimg pool, and tennis and basketball courts. For golf lovers, some excelent golf courses are within a 5-10 minutes drive (Alto Club, Penina and Morgado Golf). For families and children, there are the great water parks, the nearest of which is the "Slide & Splash", at about 20-minutes drive from Alvor. Near Alvor there are many different beaches, all of them very beautiful, some with rocks and cliffs, like "Praia dos Três Irmãos" (1 km away), "Praia do Vau", "Praia do Alemão" and "Praia da Rocha" (2 km away).

Algarve

The condominium "Club Alvor Ria" is an ideal resort for families searching for a relaxing holiday. A car is not even necessary as you have everything you need in the Alvor village within walking distance. But Alvor is included in the Algarve Western region which has some wonderful places to visit and is well worth exploring. At a short drive from Alvor you have two interesting towns, Portimão to the east and Lagos to the west, as well as the amazing mountain range "Serra de Monchique" to the north. Both Lagos and Portimão are big fishing ports and have big hypermarkets and shoping centers and all kinds of stores. Additionally, they each have a modern marina, with a selection of bars, restaurants and shops. Portimão, at a 10-minutes drive from Alvor, has a beautiful promenade by the riverside and is well-known for its restaurants specialized in grilled sardines and stands close to ‘Praia da Rocha’, famous for its nightlife and casino. Lagos, at about 20-minutes drive from Alvor, is a very well preserved town, with a historic center still surrounded by medieval walls, a fort at the entrance of the harbour, and the 18th century ‘Golden Church’ of Saint Anthony. The whole town center is a pedestrianized area, well known for its vibrant nightlife, with several small squares linked by narrow streets with plenty of cafés and restaurants. Lagos is surrounded by several interesting sites, including famous beaches and is close to the well preserved Natural Park ‘Costa Vicentina’, where you can find beaches and landscapes of a breathtaking, wild beauty. It is also close to Sagres, a historic place worthy of a visit. If you drive about 20 minutes inland from Alvor towards "Monchique", you enter in a completely diferent world of luxuriant green vegetation, winding roads and, at the same time, slow life. "Serra de Monchique" has the highest point in the Algarve, and in a clear day the views over the hills and the resorts below are amazing, reaching far beyond. At "Caldas de Monchique", whose origin is based on the health properties of the unique Monchique water, already known by the Romans, you can feel the magic of the place, offering total relaxation in an enchanting scenery. There are many restaurants to choose in the area, most of them with excelent terraces to enjoy the panoramic views.

All prices are for an occupancy of up to 4 people.

A deposit of 50% by bank transfer secures the booking. A final payment of 50% is due two weeks prior to arrival, by bank transfer, or at arrival, in cash, as we do not accept credit/debit cards. Please contact us for details.
A refundable breakage/damage deposit is required, and returned to you within 7 days of your departure – after property inspection and return of swipe cards, keys, remote controls, etc.. Please contact us for details. In case of loss of any of the following items – swipe cards, remote controls, safe keys, entrance keys – there will be a payment of 25 euros per unit.
If you cancel your booking within seven days of receiving our written confirmation, we will refund the balance of any money you have paid to us. After such period, if you cancel your booking more than eight weeks prior to the Arrival Date, we will retain the Initial Deposit of 50% and refund the balance of any money you have paid to us. If you cancel your booking less than eight weeks prior to the Arrival Date, we reserve the right to retain the Initial Deposit and the Rental, and refund the balance of any money you have paid to us.
The price includes bed linen, bath towels, gas, electricity and water, and a cleaning servisse once a week. Please provide your own beach towels.
Check in is from 3p.m. to 10p.m. on day of arrival, and check out is until 11a.m. on day of departure. This may be negotiable, pending other arrival/departures.
