Villa Adelaidia is a large 2-bedroom property situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac within easy walking distance to the centre of Pissouri village. The villa is all on one level with a tiled courtyard garden and pergola-covered shaded areas. The absence of steps makes it particularly attractive and convenient for visitors with restricted mobility. The large living area is air-conditioned and comfortably furnished including Internet TV, DVD-player and stereo system, complemented by a varied library of DVDs, CDs, books and board games catering for all tastes. WiFi Broadband Internet access is available for a small charge.The spacious bedrooms are individually air-conditioned with ceiling fans and provided with extensive storage space. The bathroom features a large shower and bidet. The comprehensively equipped kitchen incorporates an extensive range of appliances. Particularly useful is the large American-style fridge-freezer with built-in ice machine and cold water dispenser. An air-conditioned Honda CR-V 5-door 4 x 4 vehicle with automatic transmission is available for use by visitors

The Garden: The walled courtyard garden is a pleasant oasis stocked with small trees and shrubs with an automatic watering system to ensure their well being. To the front and rear of the villa there are shady pergola-covered patios whilst the tiled courtyard garden to the side of the property has a table and seating for 6. Two loungers are provided together with 2 sun umbrellas offering extra shade on hotter days. A further wooden patio table and 4 chairs are also available which guests can use for al fresco dining or socializing.

The Car: A Honda CR-V 4 x 4, 5 door, 5 seater is available for the use of visitors free of charge. The vehicle is spacious with comfortable cloth-covered seats and a large boot area easily loaded over the low sill. The vehicle is fully air-conditioned. The 2 litre petrol engine and automatic transmission provides ample power for the roads and hills of Cyprus. A radio/CD player is fitted to add to visitors’ enjoyment. The car is comprehensively insured and well maintained and has had 4 new tyres fitted this year. Traffic in Cyprus drives on the left, like UK, making it particularly straight forward for British drivers.

Pissouri Village: Pissouri village has long been a favourite holiday destination for British visitors seeking to mix modern facilities with the appeal of a traditional Cyprus village. The local Cypriots are honest and friendly with a cheerful greeting and welcoming smile for visitors. The men folk of the village still gather daily in the shade of the giant rubber tree or at the kapheneion to sip coffee and share gossip. The village square is flanked by tavernas with outside chairs and tables for al fresco dining in the balmy evenings. In the summer months a display of traditional Cyprus dancing and entertainment with authentic Cyprus fare is held in the village square. The village also boasts a modern Greek-style amphitheatre which is the venue for a range of entertainments in season.

  • The fully-fitted and tiled bathroom features a white suite with a large shower enclosure in lieu of a conventional bath with sliding doors for ease of access. The shower is pumped to provide a full powered flow and a mixer tap facilitates setting the temperature to the user’s specific requirements. There is a bidet in addition to the WC. A shaver light is installed above the mirror and a wall-mounted cabinet contains the essential items of a first aid kit to treat cuts, grazes and insect bites. A heated towel rail is part of the house central heating system but is not required other than during the coldest winter months. Hot water is provided by roof-mounted solar heated panels, backed up by an immersion heater or the oil-fired central heating in winter. Towels are provided for use in the villa but visitors are expected to provide their own towels for use at the beach and swimming pool.

  • The main bedroom is large (13’ x 13’) and fully air-conditioned, with a queen-size double bed, extensive fitted wardrobes and storage space providing generous hanging space and drawers, and dressing table, mirror and stool. Ample bed linen is provided, with spare/extra sheets, blankets and throws, if needed, to meet the requirements of the season. There are 2 bedside cabinets with light and a digital radio/alarm clock. The windows are fitted with fly screens to allow fresh air circulation when the air-conditioning is not required. External louvred shutters are also fitted to keep out the light should visitors choose to resist the early morning appeal of beautiful Cyprus day. The second bedroom has identical features to the first except that it is fitted with two twin beds.

The spacious (24’ x 14’) living area is furnished with settees and easy chairs providing comfortable seating for 6 people; there are also several occasional tables. The dining area seats six at a contemporary cherry wood-finish dining table. Three pillar fans in the villa provide a comfortable climate without resource to full air conditioning. For the cooler months the villa is equipped with a full oil-fired central heating system with radiators in every room. A telephone is installed for local or incoming calls, only. Fly screens are fitted to all doors and windows. The large kitchen (13’ x 10’) is equipped with the full range of cooking utensils and ample crockery, cutlery and glassware, stored in pine-finish floor and wall units. Fitted appliances include an oven, hob unit, microwave, dishwasher, large American-style fridge-freezer with ice machine and cold water dispenser and a washing machine housed in its own external enclosure. Electrical sockets are identical to UK.

Our Stay at Villa Adelaida

We stayed at the Villa Adelaida for 1 week starting from 26th December 2007. The villa is beautifully decorated, spacious and had everything we needed. The welcome pack is a lovely gesture and very much appreciated. The villa is very clean and Christine and Ken, next door act as agents in case assistance is needed.

The rental included a 4wheel drive vehicle, so we travelled around a lot of Cyprus- the Troodos mountains are especially beautiful- stop for coffee in Platres

We found the entire rental procedure very simple and very professional.

I would have no hesitation in returning to or reccomending this accomodation

That's the way to beat the winter blues

Cyprus was a new destination for the 4 people in our party but it would be fair to say that we all came away after a one week in late February(2013) wanting more.

The description carried on the HomeAway website was spot on - the village is a very short drive from the sea and the sea in February was warm enough for my wife to swim in - she rated it warmer than Wales in mid-summer so we were quite surprised not to see others taking the plunge. The arrangements and management of the house were very impressive - not only was it spotlessly clean and very well equipped but the book of advice answered every question that popped up in clear non-technical terms. All the furniture was comfortable and newish , the beds being particularly good.

All breakfasts were taken in the garden which is sunny from early morning until late afternoon (or it was when we were there). On the coldest(a relative term) day we drove up into the Troodos mountains to find snow and slush and almost the only precipitation of the week - well worth it.

We ate lunch at various tavernas including anonymous but good establishments in Limasol , Curium and Paphos and the Stou Kir Yianni in Omodos we also had dinner at the Two Friends in Pissouri , . Salads were excellent at all places while the mezes at the Pissouri and Omodos venues were memorable.

Home cooking, too, was very pleasurable, the local vegetables and fruit were of outstanding quality and Cyprus wine while not amazingly cheap( unless you go for the one litre box which I can't resist trying) was very good (unless you go for the one litre box). The kitchen has everything we need .

The various sites along the coast got flying visits and we managed to do what felt like a very reasonable nature walk at Aphrodite Heights where the security guard welcomes and directs you on how to get started - refreshing - and alive with birdlife. Curium and the Paphos antiquities were both amazing and we felt that we might well be seeing them at the right time of year.

In sum , a thoroughly enjoyable experience and well worth trying.

We spent two great weeks in Villa Adelaida the first two weeks in April

2010 the weather was excellent and the Villa was first class.

It was exactly as described by the owner, location, facilities,cleanliness spot on. The transport arrangement was excellent we were picked up at the Airport and travelled in style.I would deffinately recommend

this villa to anyone who wishes to have a quality relaxing home from home holiday.

Visit to the Villa Adelaida 13 - 20 Aug 10

What a wonderful stay myself and my family experienced at the Villa Adelaida. It can be difficult to choose the perfect location via the internet and I was extremley please that the listing description provided by the owner was very acurate regarding the location, facilties and layout of the property. The Villa and gardens were spotless and well maintained. The owner provided excellent customer service outlining any possible eventuality and also on arrival at the Villa, a lovely welcome pack of food esstentials waited for us; providing us all with a quite night in after travelling. Our family had an extremley memorable and special holiday which catered for all our needs. We would love to return to the Village of Pissouri and certainley back to the Villa Adelaida in the future.

Fantastic villa, Fantastic Location

Had a week in the villa in August 2010. Wonderful villa, furnished to very high standard, and exactly as owner describes in property details. Fully air conditioned. Welcome pack provided by owners very welcome indeed. Good quiet location. Short drive to beach. Within easy walking distance of town and restaurants - highly recommend Bunch of Grapes annd Hideaway. Sparti pub good for a drink as well. Within 30mins driving distance of both Paphos and Limassol, Troodos mountains about an hour - well worth a visit.

One of our party is reliant on a wheelchair, certainly when walking any sort of distance, and the villa was well equipped for her needs, even to the point of the owners providin g a ramp to get up the back door step! It's the little touches that make the holiday so great.

Two weeks at Adelaida at the start of March

Our two weeks at this villa were superb.It is very comfortable and well equipped,handy for a walk into Pissouri and only 10 minutes from the really beautiful Pissouri bay.The owners had thought of everything we might need and even helped with transfers from the airport.The garden was great for sitting out and there was too much to do to fit it all in. We will certainly go back here.

The villa is 5 minutes walk away from the centre of the popular traditional village of Pissouri, conveniently situated midway between the major towns of Limassol and Paphos. The village is 600’ high and offers spectacular panoramic views to the sea and to the Troodos mountains to the north. Just 3 miles away, Pissouri Bay provides extensive water sport and recreational facilities on its award-winning beach. Within 2 hours visitors can be enjoying cool walks among the sun-dappled, pine-scented forests of the Troodos mountains. Two championship standard golf courses are available within 20 minutes drive. The area abounds with antiquities; the Greco-Roman city and amphitheatre of Curium at Episkopi , medieval Kolossi castle, and the World Heritage Site mosaics and historic fort adjacent to the picturesque Paphos harbour are all worth visiting. The village and bay area feature numerous tavernas and restaurants offering an extensive range of traditional Cyprus dishes and international cuisines.

Golf: Two championship-standard golf courses, Aphrodite's Hills and Secret Valley, are located within 20 minutes drive of Pissouri.
