Apartment in La Plagne, (just below 1800) in Peaceful and Picturesque Location

Welcome to our home from home in the mountains. Sleeping up to 8 people, our spacious 65m2 apartment is furnished and equipped to a high standard in traditional Savoyard style, with comfortable soft furnishings and free wi-fi internet access. The living area has a large sofa bed, a second sofa, coffee table, TV corner unit, 28" LED TV with UK satellite channels and DVD/Blue Ray player and opens directly onto the large wrap-around balcony and terrace. The views across the valley to Mont Blanc are stunning. The modern kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric hob (4 rings), grill/microwave/oven, a coffee machine and crockery/utensils. The dining area has an extendable pine dining table and seating for 8 people. Bedroom 1 has 2 single beds a built in wardrobe, bedside tables and a large pine chest of drawers. Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds, a built in wardrobe, bedside tables and shelving. Bedroom 3 sleeps 2 in full size bunk beds (suitable for children or adults) with under-bed drawers. Bathroom 1 has a shower cubicle, basin, wc, heated towel rail and washing machine. Bathroom 2 has a full length bath with shower over, basin and heated towel rail. There is also a separate second wc. The apartment has full electric central heating & hot water at all times. Skis can be stored in the lockable ski store, adjacent to the building's main front door and on the same level as our apartment.

There is free parking directly outside the door, also on the same level as our apartment. During the winter season, it is possible to ski from the bottom of Crete Cote village across to a red run which goes down to the La Roche chairlift, giving direct access to the huge La Plagne and Paradiski area. For the more adventurous, it is also possible to ski back to Crete Cote village via a small track through the trees which leaves from the corner of the car park at the bottom of Plagne 1800. However, it is also very simple to take the free bus service, which stops outside the entrance to Crete Cote village and takes you to any of the many lift hubs in the La Plagne area and back. The free bus service runs until midnight every day.

About Ben

We are winter sports lovers Ben & Sophie and we live in rural Suffolk with our three young children. Having both skied during our childhood, we felt that we really wanted a base in the mountains so that our children could have the best skiing experience every season. Whilst we bought the apartment mainly to enjoy the winter sports, we also love the freedom and clear air that the mountains offer and we come here to re-charge and refresh during the summer season as well. The resort is open during July and August and offers a huge range of activities including hiking, mountain biking, swimming and even go-karting down grassy pistes and zip-wires through the trees!

Why Ben chose La Plagne

La Plagne and the wider Paradiski area offers a fantastic range of skiing and snowboarding runs. As winter sports lovers, we love the huge range of runs available here, meaning our children can learn to ski in a safe and beautiful environment which can continue to challenge them as they grow and improve. Crete Cote Village is situated just below the pretty Plagne 1800 in a peaceful and picturesque area away from the crowds, whilst still being able to access easily all the facilities that are available. Our apartment is at 1756m altitude and on the north side of the mountain, so the snow is reliably good all through the season. The view across the valley to Mont Blanc is simply stunning and the large balcony offers a fantastic place to relax with a well earned glass of wine and enjoy the view.

Since purchasing the apartment during the winter 2015/16 season, we have re-furbished it with new furniture, new bedding, new soft furnishings and TV/DVD and wi-fi to make a real home from home in the mountains. We welcome you to our home and hope you have a really wonderful stay.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is very conveniently positioned to the vast range of pistes available at La Plagne and throughout the Paradiski area, whilst being in a quiet and pretty area where you won't be disturbed by any late night revellers! The location has easy access to Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble and Lyon airports. The Ben's Bus service offers good value transfers from the airports, but for best convenience, we recommend fly-drive or driving your own car to the resort.

Whilst in the resort, you will have access to fantastic service from Kate from Piste Pads, who can arrange and deliver your lift passes, arrange ski hire (delivered to your door) and arrange ski lessons. We recommend Oxygene ski-school, who will also collect you from the apartment and drive you to and from your lesson meeting point in Plagne Centre (4 mins drive).

Lovely place to stay for a skiing holiday

We have just come back from staying at Crete cote and had a wonderful time. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need (although it took us a while to work out the microwave/oven!) It was a perfect size to fit 6 adults and a 7month old baby. Ben organised for a high chair and travel cot to be at the apartment for us to use. The views from the apartment are amazing and we were able to snowboard down to la Roche in the morning and back to near the apartment in the evening. We were extremely lucky to have lots of snow but for our safely it did mean that roads to bellacote were closed for a few days and many of the walks around the area closed for the duration so grandparents found it hard trying to find things to do with a 7 month old. The buses outside the apartment only run every hour so we found this challenging if a bus was missed especially coming back later in the evening! But maybe we should be more organised!

I would recommend this apartment to anyone thinking of visiting la plagne and Ben has been great at correspondence with any questions I had. Lovely place to have a skiing holiday 😀?

A pleasant and well apportioned apartment overlooking the mountains

The apartment is fantastic 2 double bedrooms (these seemed larger than the usual double rooms you get in these types of apartments) and a good sized bunk room, large open entrance and comfortable lounge area with freesat english tv. The apartment is on the entrance level so no lugging luggage up and down stairs which is a real bonus, plus a ski locker available at entrance level. The only niggle, and it is just that, is I couldn’t get on with the oven microwave combination.

We booked this apartment as we have stayed at Crete Cote previously, nice and quite area and easy to get to. However be prepared to put on snow chains to get up to the apartment as the road can be extremely icy, we got away with it this year with snow tyres and AWD but have previously experienced loss of traction 2/3rds of the way up sliding backwards which is not a pleasant experience.

You can chose whether to ski out in the mornings along the footpath to the red run Andre Martzolf (subject to snow conditions) or catch the free shuttle bus up to Plagne 1800, Centre or Aime 2000 (if you get off the bus at Résidence Pierre et Vacances at Aime 2000 it is a 10 yard walk to the Golf blue run which is a beginners area). It is also possible for competent skiers to ski back through the trees from Plagne 1800 (access from the bottom car park) or again down the red run Andre Martzolf to No. 4 post and take the short walk down the road.

We often have a hot chocolate, a Crepe and occasional lunch at Croq Neige in Plagne Centre near the lifts and at the ski school meeting point, we also had dinner at La Loup Blanc in Plagne 1800 which was very nice and La Cantine which is a very nice small pizza restaurant again in Plagne 1800. Booking in advance is advisable and both are reasonably priced.

The booking process for the apartment was easy and communications with Ben and Piste Pads (local agent) have been excellent.

Very Good

We are just back from a week in La Plagne The apartment is very modern warm and clean We were a party of six adults and the apartment is very well appointed and spacious for six one small point if 8 adults stayed it would be a bit tight for space. The two bathrooms are great with plenty of hot water and no queue for the loo!! We stayed in most nights after a great days skiing because we were very comfortable and warm and watched the English TV just like home Free wifi is also a great bonus It is only 5 mins in a car up to Plagne 1800 were you can park for free and join the slopes Overall we would highly recommend this apartment and hope to go back

Lovely week in the mountains

We spent an enjoyable week here in La Plagne in this very warm and comfortable apartment. There is plenty of cupboard space in the good sized bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable sofas, large windows and balcony with wonderful views of snow-capped mountains with Mont Blanc in the distance. Fluffy towels and seemingly unlimited hot water for baths and showers were greatly appreciated.

Beau séjour enneigé

Très beau chalet.

Cependant, deux inconvénients existent.

Le premier pas trop grave est, pour nous francophones avec enfants, qu'il n y a que des chaînes anglaises disponibles à la tv.

Le second plus embêtant est la navette qui ne passe qu'une fois par heure.

En période de congés scolaires, entre 16 hrs et 20 hrs, 2 fois par heures.

Malgré ces deux problèmes, je recommande ce logement.

Travel:

Use of a car is recommended. Airport transfers are also available (Ben's Bus is very cost effective). Nearest Airport is Chambery which is 72 miles (116km) away. Next nearest airport is Geneva which is 121 miles (195km) away and Grenoble airport is 123 miles away (198km). Calais Port is 600 miles away. There is a free shuttle bus service running from Crete Cote Village up to La Plagne and the La Plagne area villages. This runs from 6am until midnight and runs every hour at approximate 12 mins past the hour going to La Plagne and 15 mins to the hour from Plagne Centre to return. A detailed timetable is in the apartment.

Distances:

The apartment offers easy access to La Plagne's main slopes. It is possible to ski from opposite the entrance to Crete Cote village to the La Roche chairlight. It is 3 minutes by car or 10-15 mins on foot from shops/restaurants.

The nearest shop, restaurants, bars, ski hire shops are in Plagne 1800 which is a 3 minute drive up the road.

There is a larger range of restaurants, bars, shops, cinema, banks and other amenities situated in Plagne Centre which is a 5 minute drive by car.
