Overview

About the property

2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 250 metres to the beach, sensational sea views!

www.trewollas.com.

Trewollas Beach Cottage has unrivaled sea views, being a detached property it is very private. Nestling high in the sand dunes,Trewollas has a perfect south-west aspect, enjoying the sun all day long through to fabulous sunsets over the Atlantic. The living room and bedrooms offer wide sweeping views of the valley, Sennen Cove village and of course the fabulous beach and sea views. On a clear day you can even see all the way to the Scilly Isles!

Just 2 or 3 minutes’ walk via the private footpath from the garden will take you down to the South West Coastal Path and the vast sandy beach of Whitesand Bay.

The cottage is equipped to a high standard, with wireless internet access, Freesat TV and DVD player. There is a washing machine and separate tumble drier. Trewollas has full central heating making it ideal for a winter break.

The living area is open plan, taking advantage of the amazing views through large double-glazed windows and a patio door opening onto the terrace. A few steps lead down from the kitchen and dining area to the sitting room. The two levels provide separate yet companionable spaces.

The main bedroom has a king sized bed and an en-suite with an electric shower. The second bedroom situated across the other side of the living area from the main bedroom has zip and link beds, so can either be made as a twin or if preferred a super king-sized bed. This bedroom has use of the main bathroom, which has a luxury free standing bath and a rainfall shower.

The living area opens onto a patio with magnificent views of Sennen Cove and the ever-changing seascape.

There is also a sheltered sun terrace, a “window” in the hedge frames the view over Sennen Cove beautifully. A barbeque area and outdoor tables and chairs make the garden a great place for al fresco dining.

Trewollas Beach Cottage offers dog friendly self-catering accommodation in a beautiful part of Cornwall. Dogs love Trewollas! Miles of coastal paths, huge sandy beaches, many dog-friendly restaurants and cafes together make it a great place to bring your dog. Few dog friendly holiday cottages can match the stunning views, great walks and dog friendly beaches that are on Trewollas’s doorstep.

The local area has many attractions to visit, including St. Michael's Mount at Penzance, just 10 minutes’s drive from Trewollas and the picturesque port of St. Ives only 15 minutes away. Land’s End is a walk of less than an hour from Trewollas along stunning coastal paths.

Whitesand Bay is a beautiful crescent of golden sand stretching for over one mile between granite headlands. Backed by high sand dunes and with little development, it has a very natural and relaxed atmosphere. The large tidal range produces an extensive beach of firm, fine sand at low tide, wonderful for sand castles and play, walking and relaxing. The clear Atlantic waters have consistently met or exceeded the higher quality standard for bathing water in the Environment Agency’s annual tests.

A rocky outcrop divides Whitesand Bay into Sennen Beach and to the north, Gwenver Beach. At low tide, the vast sands of the beaches join; when the tide is in, a short section of the South West Coastal Path links the beaches.

At the southern end of Sennen Beach, cafes, restaurants, the pub, galleries and shops gathered along the seafront provide everything needed for a great day at the beach.

There is a lifeguard service on both beaches from May to September and, on Sennen Beach, over the Easter weekend as well. Sennen Beach provides safe bathing within the flagged zones and the Atlantic swells provide excellent surfing.

There is a surf and beach hire shop below the Restaurant on the beach where you can hire beginner surfboards, intermediate surfboards, wetsuits, body boards and fins. For those of you not wanting to go into the water there are deck chairs, sun loungers and windbreaks. The conditions vary according to time and tide but waves can be found for all abilities whether novice, intermediate or expert.

Children have an absolute ball in the surf and the local surf schools offer great coaching to get them up and riding the rollers though of course just frolicking in the waves and body boarding will be excitement enough for some.If you’ve already got the surfing bug then this is the perfect place for you. If you’ve yet to try surfing then, in our opinion, there’s no better place to start…surfing.

About Heather Stack

Hello

We are Heather and Rob and we were lucky enough to purchase Trewollas in December 2015. We have always loved visiting Cornwall and in particular Sennen Cove and when Trewollas came on the market we knew it was perfect. During the first few months of 2016 Trewollas has been completely refurbished, we have put in a new bathroom, kitchen, new furniture and new wooden flooring. The cottage has been successfully rented out as a holiday home for the last 12 years and we are delighted to say that many previous renters have re booked and are already enjoying staying at Trewollas. We look forward to welcoming everyone to enjoy Cornwall's Hidden Gem! We hope you will love it as much as we do.

Our favourite holiday cottage ever!

  • 5 of 5

Bowled over by the view - were quite happy on slightly inclement days just to stay in and watch the sea! Inside, the cottage has everything we could have needed (right down to the pizza wheel) and thank you so much for the lovely welcome pack - very much enjoyed. It was a bonus to discover we could walk over the headland in the evening with torches to get to a fabulous pub and restaurant (both dog friendly.)

We very much hope to be back!

The local area has many attractions to visit, including St. Michael's Mount at Penzance, just 10 minutes’s drive from Trewollas, and the picturesque port of St. Ives with its pretty stone cottages and narrow cobbled lanes through which to wander is only 15 minutes away. Land’s End is a walk of less than an hour from Trewollas along stunning coastal paths. The little fishing village of Newlyn and picturesque Mousehole harbour, both popular subjects for artists, are 8 miles away.

Backed by high sand dunes and with little development, it has a very natural and relaxed atmosphere. Gardens

Trewidden Gardens are steeped in history as well as natural beauty. Originally planted in the late 19th Century, the 15 acre garden offers an unforgettable orchestra of colour, particularly during the spring months. Open in spring, summer and early autumn, Trewidden is less than 15 minutes away from Trewollas.

The Eden Project and the enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan nearby make a spectacular day out for the family. Although farther away from Trewollas (about an hour and a half), they are well worth a visit. On a much smaller scale, the Sculpture Garden at the Barbara Hepworth Museum in St. Ives is very attractive and just 15 minutes from Trewollas.

There is direct access to The South West Coast Path from the garden at Trewollas.

The South West Coastal Path includes two UNESCO World Heritage sites – The Jurassic Coast and the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape. Running from Minehead in Somerset to South Haven Point near Poole in Dorset, the path is Britain’s longest National Trail and encompasses wonderful scenery, wildlife and history. Land’s End is about an hours' walk from Trewollas along a stunning section of the path, which has recently been sensitively paved in places.

The Minack Theatre, just 10 minutes’ drive from Trewollas, is Cornwall’s renowned “theatre under the stars”. The audience nestles amongst the cliffs, with the coastline providing a wonderful backdrop to performances on the stage below. The theatre’s programme of plays, opera and musicals run from May to September. The Minack’s beautiful sub-tropical gardens cascade down beside the paths to the theatre and are a great example of successful planting in a challenging situation. The gardens, gift shop and café, which has stunning views, are open year-round – there is a modest entry fee, so allow sufficient time to make the most of your visit.

The Savoy Cinema in Penzance is an attractive small cinema with three screens, predominantly showing mainstream releases. Built in 1912, it claims to be the longest continuously-running cinema in the UK. With its cosy atmosphere, small café and restaurant, it makes a nice change from the multiplex.
