About Paula Nyul

Hi, Im Paula, along with my husband Dez we have owned Flittermouse Cottage since 2008. We have three children, well not really children any more, and have recently finished renovating Flittermouse. We live next to the cottage, having built our property we then decided to renovate the barn, which has been a labour of love, and have decided to share it with others for holiday use. We have lived in Cornwall for 15 years, coming from the Midlands to build other property before this one, as we always wanted to live in Cornwall and bring our children up here.

Paula Nyul purchased this barn in 2008

Why Paula Nyul chose Camelford

When we came to see the original barn, it was very overgrown, there were two barns here, and even though we had vines and trees growing through the roof, it felt 'right' when we went into the derelict buildings. And there is where it all began.

What makes this barn unique

Flittermouse Cottage has always been a unique and interesting building from the moment we purchased it as a old run-down barn right up to this recent completion. It still holds it's original charm as a lot of the structure is made from the same materials as the original building. It's situated perfectly, hidden away in the cosy village of Helstone with great views of Delabole and the local countryside.

Beautiful Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Flittermouse Cottage is beautiful and is in an idealic location! Not far from all the main sights. The cottage is bigger than it looks on pictures and was spotlessly clean. Our cockapoo enjoyed playing with Max the Collie who was super friendly. Paula and Dez are perfect hosts!

Very relaxing and beautifully decorated barn conversion. Great location and welcoming hosts.

Had a lovely stay, didn't want to leave, everything was perfect - ate out first evening in a local pub, fish and chips from Camelford the second evening and ate in the apartment the third evening, went swimming at the nearest beach at 6pm and had an exhilarating boat trip out of Padstow on a RIB. Visited St Ives and St Just. I felt we did a lot in a few days and it was great to come back in

the evening to such nice surroundings. Dog friendly too! We'll definitely be returning next year.

Great property! Immaculately clean and all essentials> A real home from home.

  • 5 of 5

Lovely converted barn which has been decorated and furnished beautifully. Paula and Des are superb hosts and always on hand if needed. Great location for visiting key areas such as Padstow and Tintagel. We took our 9 month old Labrador who loved the field to run in and made a great friend in Max the Collie. We cant recommend highly enough and will be back.

Very well presented

  • 4 of 5

4 day stay , upside down house , very good quality of fittings all very new the only thing I found a bit strange was not having a decent window to see out of, the living /dining area is served only by the rooflights and a half glazed door at one end which looks out at a brick wall, the twin bedroom on the upstairs was similarly only served by rooflights , the downstairs double bedroom had small windows as per the photo with an additional similar opening window on the end wall.

We all enjoyed our stay and would return if we were looking to stay in the area again. recommended
