La Mimosa is located on the ground floor of our large house, next to the apartment "I Cuccioli". The apartment has a separate entrance (with two shallow steps) and a small kitchen with a dining area in a conservatory. Next to the double bedroom is the bathroom with shower.
The apartment has been furnished with great attention to detail, for example with a handmade kitchen worksheet made out of natural stone.
You can enjoy the afternoon and evening sun, sitting in the little dining area in a conservatory. About 20 meters away there is an outdoor sitting area with a table and chairs.

Kids will find plenty of space inside and around the house to play and discover nature. Your children will love to go for a treasure hunt in the woods or discover the ruin of an old castle just next to La Rogaia. The surrounding landscape is a tapestry of olive groves, sheep pastures, woods, sunflower fields, punctuated with cypress and ancient stone oaks. Here, far away from your hectic everyday life you can relax amidst a natural setting. In the early spring, almond and peach blossoms paint the valley. The summer brings honey scented ginestra (broom). Warm august nights are filled with cicada concerts. The hills are laced with golden hues in the mild autumn, warmed by the scent of chestnut fires throughout the valleys. We have been renting out holiday apartments at our house Villa La Rogaia for more than 10 years. My husband is a stone sculptor so over the years our garden has become a sculpture park.

Villa La Rogaia is an authentic 'agriturismo': We run an organic farm and grow olives, fruit trees and herbal plants (lavender, roses, rosemary). We organize courses in botany and mediterranean flora, cookery classes for Umbrian and Tuscan cuisine with organic products, slow food culinary tours and wine and truffle tasting tours.
In the meantime we got to know our new home fairly well and give you insider tips for where to go for leisure and sports, what to see off the beaten track, and where to dine out in Umbria and Southern Tuscany.
Agriturismo La Rogaia is situated amidst woods and meadows, in the hills above Lake Trasimeno in North Western Umbria on the border to Tuscany.
La Rogaia lies only four kilometres away from the quaint village of Castel Rigone, reached on a country road (2.5 km) by car, mountain bike or foot.
The drive to Trasimeno Lake is 10 km. For sightseeing there are many historically relevant towns within easy driving distance from the villa, such as Assisi, Perugia, Cortona, Arezzo and Siena. Florence can be reached in 1 1/2 hours, Rome in 2 1/2 hours. The closest airports for budget airlines (Ryanair, Easyjet etc.) are Pisa (3 hours drive), Ancona (2 1/2 hours drive), Forli (2 1/2 hours drive) and Roma Ciampino (3 hours drive).
La Rogaia is the ideal starting point to discover Umbria and Tuscany: in our vicinity are Cortona, Srezzo, Siena, Montepulciano to the West and Assisi, Perugia, Norcia to the East. There are hiking and mountainbike trecks around the house and around Lake Trasimeno.
