Notes:
The Isle of Lewis is at the North west corner of the group of Islands known as the Outer Hebrides, or Western Isles. The history and culture in Lewis goes back for thousands of years. Visit the Callanish stones, Broch and Black houses, admire the beautiful hills and mountains, alongside the greenery of the crofts and clear blue sea waters and stunning beaches. Gaelic is spoken alongside English. The Island has a traditional religous background and still observes quiet Sundays with limited shops or activites open. From Stornoway take the A866 towards Point (Rubha). Cross over the Braighe (Rathad A'Bhraigh), continue stright through the villages of Knock (Cnoc), Garrabost and Shulishader. On the right after Shulishader is a sign for Sheshader (Seisiadar), take this turning and drive straight until you enter the village and see a playpark on your right. Take the left turning opposite the playpark and drive right to the end. The very last house with a wooden barn behind it is 1A Sheshade

A perfect home base for experiencing the glory of the Outer Hebrides

  • 5 of 5

Katrina's home in Sheshader exceeded expectations for our large party of two families with preteen and teenage children. The views of the shore and Minch across to the Scottish Highlands from the dining and living room, and most of the bedrooms, are world class. The location is very private and peaceful, where the bleating of sheep mixes harmoniously with the gentle rhythm of waves hitting the shore below, yet just an easy 10 minute drive to services in quaint Stornoway. The Isles of Lewis and Harris are easy to navigate by car and the Sheshader location provided a great home base from which to take day trips to explore the beauty of this place, while Point Peninsla itself offers numerous historical richness and sea life viewing opportunities. Stunningly beautiful beaches are an easy 30 minute drive away. The house is modern, cozy while spacious, and extremely well equipped, and the kids enjoyed the yard to kick a ball around in, and the adjacent fields to explore. We had plenty of room for our large group, and yet felt quite comfortable when there were just 5 of us for a few days. Katrina is a most gracious and hospitable host, who communicates very well. We highly recommend 1A Sheshader for a wonderful stay on Lewis!

Excellent home from home.

  • 5 of 5

This immaculate spacious modern home is all you need for a relaxing break for a family or group of friends. It is fully fitted with everything required for a complete break. It has spectacular views on the beautiful Isle of Lewis, a rural location but still reasonably close to Stornoway!

We were very comfortable and would highly recommend this property.

Exceptional

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic house, great location, superb views while every need catered for within the property. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Fresh eggs and bread waiting for our arrival, the house was spacious and welcoming. Could not recommend it more and likewise our friends who were visiting with us from Arizona.

We will definitely be returning
