Delightful cottage in a wonderful location

  • 5 of 5

Booked the cottage as a Birthday surprise for my partner, we loved it. The cottage is perfect, if you want a break from the stresses of everyday life, this is the place for you. The cottage is a home from home, fully equipped kitchen, large comfy bed with beautiful linen, huge bath and good quality towels. The log burner was fabulous and much needed as the wind howled outside we were cosy and warm in front of the fire. Nice little village, we ate in both pubs - good pub grub. Just what we need to recharge our batteries - fabulous!

Perfect for 2

  • 5 of 5

I can only echo the great reviews I read before I booked this lovely cottage. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly need, even down to a torch (which was needed but we hadn’t thought of). The location is perfect for walks on the moor and exploring further afield around Devon by car. The hosts are lovely and the addition of some essentials in the fridge along with a couple of treats made the perfect cottage even more perfect. Will definitely book again if we are heading back to Devon.

A lovely cottage in a lovely, quiet location in easy walking distance from the village of Widecombe

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is an absolutely ideal place from which to base a holiday on the Moor. Apart from Widecombe being one of the loveliest and friendliest villages on Dartmoor, the cottage itself is extremely well appointed - lots of thoughtful touches in the way it is designed and appointed. A 10 minute, easy going walk to village with its 2 pubs and shop. And if the weather is bad, how nice to load the wood burner with logs provided by the owners and sit in front of the fire. We had a very, very enjoyable stay.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I took my wife here for a couple of nights as a surprise 30th birthday treat and it didn't disappoint.

A perfect little cottage, very well kitted out and in the perfect location. We found the cottage itself exactly what we like.

The bed was comfy, bath amazing and kitchen facilities superb, plus the views from the cottage are breath taking.

Also, on arrival we were greeted with a bottle of wine and fresh eggs!!

We took the small 300m walk up to the local Rugglestone Inn on our first evening and enjoyed a couple of drinks in their beer garden. A beautiful picturesque country pub.

Day two we went on a long walk over the Moors arriving back in Widecombe for lunch at the Old Inn which was lovely.

We spent the evening sat in front of the log burner playing board games and drinking wine.

Beautiful little cottage, very private, with a stunning view

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in the cottage - everything was beautifully done inside, there was a real feeling of privacy and the views from the back were stunning. The fresh eggs, milk and victoria sponge on arrival were a nice touch! Would definitely recommend to others.
