A beautifully restored 18th Century cottage in the heart of Winchcombe. This property cannot fail to impress. It has been sympathetically restored with the highest standard of fixtures and fittings you would come to expect from our previous cottage - The Vine. Everything has been thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Situated in the heart of the Anglo-Saxon town of Winchcombe you are only a stone's throw from the magnificent Sudeley Castle Esate.

N.B. For Stays during the winter months you will receive a free basket of logs and enjoy festive touches such as Fairy Lights, Wreath and Foliage over the FirePlace.

As you enter the cottage you walk into the flagstoned floor sitting room with large hearth and log burning stove. Up two steps you walk into the brand new kitchen with four ring induction hob and electric oven, fridge freezer, slimline dishwasher and washer-dryer. To your right is the bathroom with Bath Store bath, shower enclosure, WC and sink. Towards the back of the kitchen is a pretty recess area for dining with upholstered bench seating and dining table. From the back door you climb three steps into the sunny garden terrace complete with patio furniture. A perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets over the town.

Upstairs is the first floor bedroom with king size John Lewis bed, a wardrobe and recessed shelving complete with lined storage baskets. The White Company linen and towels are provided for your comfort.

From this bedroom a narrow staircase leads up to the second floor bedroom which has two full size single beds and a pretty dressing table. Under bed storage is also provided.

The property is centrally heated with a brand new cast iron radiators throughout.

Please note that this property is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties due to the number of steps at the property and the twisting narrow staircase. The property was built around 1800 and has many period features.

We provide many home comforts to make packing as easy as possible. There is a hairdryer, electric fan, iron and ironing board & clothes airer provided.

Tea and coffee making facilities are also provided for your comfort.

Winchcombe itself is a delightful small town with a fascinating past stretching back as far as the Saxon era. With the beautiful Sudeley Castle set in a breathtaking 1,200 acre estate on our doorstep and a wealth of National Trust properties locally, Winchcombe cannot fail but impress. Cheltenham is a mere 8 miles away with its impressive array of festivals from Jazz to Literature, Science to Music. For horse racing fans Cheltenham racecourse is a short drive away and during the racing fixtures, there is a wonderful buzz around town as Winchcombe welcomes many more visitors to the town.

Whatever season you visit Winchcombe you will be warmly welcomed by the local pubs and restaurants which are all extraordinarily good.

Further afield you are fantastically located to visit some of the most popular Cotswold towns such as Broadway, Stow-in-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water or even Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon.

I can assure you after a mini-break in Winchcombe, you really won't want to leave.

About Amanda Houghton-Brown

Paul and I had been looking for an investment purchase for a couple of years following the success of our holiday cottage The Vine. Property: 8147381 This is our second holiday cottage in Winchcombe and we have been delighted with how popular the cottage has proved to be in its first year of opening. Whether for tourists visiting The Cotswolds for the first time or regular visitors who join one of the many walking groups we are looking forward to providing a comfortable bolt hole for guests throughout 2017 and beyond.

Guests have been delighted with the high level of comfort they receive, how surprisingly light and airy the property is and in particular they comment on the pretty walled garden and the high quality fixtures and fittings we have sourced to give that 'boutique hotel' feel to the property.

Please email us or request to book for further information.

Why Amanda Houghton-Brown chose Winchcombe

Vineyard Street is the most photographed street in Winchombe and even features on the We LOVE England website. It is a beautiful row of 18th Century cottages and when number 6 came to the market in 2015 we couldn't wait to invest in it. The property has been carefully restored and renovated to live up the expectations of 21st Century guests with free wifi and satellite television.

What makes this house unique

At The Feathered Nest you are on the doorstep of some of the most beautiful Cotswold villages such as Bourton-on-the-Water, Broadway and Chipping Camden. The magnificent Sudeley Castle Estate is a short walk away. Within 500yards you are at the gates to the castle and a beautiful driveway leads to the castle itself.

The property benefits from a pretty walled garden from where you can enjoy a glass of pimms on your own private sunny terrace while listening to the church bells a short distance away.

The kitchen dining area works well and is lovely and light with four new velux ceiling lights.

The front room is warm and cosy with its large hearth and log burning stove. Logs are provided from October to April. A new flat screen television with free sat channels is provided and free wifi is provided throughout the property.

Upstairs the high standard of comfort continues with a John Lewis king size bed and White Company Bed Linen and towels to add to that hotel feel. A small wardrobe, recessed storage and deep pile carpet is welcome underfoot. On the second floor two full size single beds with under bed storage and a small dressing table unit provide a cosy room for two. The top floor window opens to views over the town and church.

Very high quality but also tasteful.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed with daughter and granddaughter and although it is a tiny cottage we managed well. You do need good mobility to negotiate the winding stairs with a suitcase but you can't expect anything else in a genuine old cottage. Also Winchcombe is lovely and not as touristy as a lot of other Cotswolds places.

Lovely little cottage!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the Feathered Nest at Winchcombe! It was a beautiful, well-appointed cottage that met all our needs. It was spacious yet had a cosy atmosphere and oozed charm. There was lots of information on hand about what to do in the Cotswolds. We can't recommend it highly enough and hope to return one day.

Beautiful cottage with great character in fantastic location

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we absolutely loved this cottage. It has so much charm and character, plus it is very well equipped - all the appliances are new and good quality. The bathroom is great with a really spacious shower and nice bath.

It's ideal for a couple or family with young children and although the second bedroom is quite small all the beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of room overall. The little courtyard garden is great for having breakfast on a sunny morning.

Winchcombe itself is also lovely and the cottage couldn't be better located. There are 3 good pubs and 2 restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk, plus several cafes/delis. The street this cottage is on is so picturesque that I found a postcard with the cottage itself on it.

If you enjoy hiking then, again, this cottage is a great choice. There are three or four good walks out of Winchcombe into the surrounding hills (probably more to be honest!) and two of them go right past the front door - One to Belas Knapp long barrow and one past Sudely Castle.

We will definitely stay here again next time we are in the Cotswolds - hopefully in winter so we can give the log burner a try!

A charming cottage in a great location.

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our short stay at The Feathered Nest. The owners have thoughtfully provided everything one might need and the cottage has been tastefully modernised with good quality fittings and furnishings throughout. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfy. The little walled and paved courtyard at the back is very private and makes a great place to relax in the sun, while swifts fly high overhead. Winchcome is a delightful small town with lovely old Cotswold stone streets. There are plenty of good pubs and shops just around the corner. One would not need to venture far away for a very enjoyable and peaceful holiday but it is well worth visiting many of the other nearby towns, villages, pubs and beautiful country in this very special part of England.

Vineyard Street Winchcombe

  • 5 of 5

Small but comfortable. Very well situated. Parking was okay right on the street. Local shops not too far away. Perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds. Took out an annual membership to Sudeley Castle and visited 3 times. Still didn't see everything there. The children loved the adventure playground. The owners were wonderful to deal with from beginning to end, very quick to respnd to our questions. Perfect for a family of 4. we would love to return.

Winchcombe is a pretty Anglo-Saxon town in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the heart of the Cotswolds. Slightly off the beaten track for many tourists you are not faced with coach loads of tourists each day and this Fair-trade town is exceptionally welcoming to visitors. You are only 10 minutes from Cheltenham and Prestbury Park RaceCourse which holds the Gold Cup each March. The magnificent Sudeley Castle is at the end of the street and many of the cottages are still owned by the Sudeley Estate. Winchcombe has a fantastic number of good pubs and restaurants as well as coffee shops and a brand new Budgens to cater for all your needs.
