Magical
The property is just wonderful, sitting out on the decking surrounded by trees and the most beautiful plants is like being in another world. The castle in the woods is more than just a tree house, but no spoilers, and the dragonflies are massive. Don't even get me started on the baby chicks or how lovely our hosts were. My only word of caution is don't be me and forget your hiking boots, loved it!

About the host

Philip and Jenny live in the house near to The Studio, so are on hand to help with any queries or advice on places to visit. Philip has researched, written and published books on aspects of the history of the area. We moved to the area at the end of 2014 and are thoroughly enjoying exploring this beautiful and varied place.

Why they chose this property

We immediately fell in love with the secluded, peaceful, location of the property surrounded by woodland and birdsong. The countryside is beautiful, with a host of varied walking landscapes, fascinating historic remains and family visitor attractions. It offers the best of both worlds - rural tranquility with quick access to local market towns. Ludlow is a wonderful, lively place where there always seems to be something going on!

What makes this property unique

We converted 'The Studio' from a painter's studio (hence the name!) into the holiday cottage as it is now. In doing so, we were seeking to maintain the lovely light that the artist had needed for his work and feel that we have succeeded in doing so. In order to do this, we have placed the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living area upstairs.
