About Annie Davey

We have lived in the heart of the Peak District for many years but we never take it for granted. Everyday we step outside and we are surrounded by fantastic views. We have recently bought this thatched cottage in Devon which we are offering to guests as well as enjoying ourselves. Stokeinteignhead is very similar to Little Longstone in many ways but it has the added attraction that it is near the sea! We are keen walkers and cyclists and are happy to advise on places to go. We enjoy good food, beer and wine and and we are happy to advise on the best places to go - actually only 5 minutes walk from the cottage. We have 2 children, both living in London and we love organising holidays with friends and family.

A delightful thatched holiday cottage in the pretty village of Stokeinteignhead. Stokeinteignhead is a chocolate-box thatched village nestled in a sheltered valley near the sea in south Devon - a hidden gem. Just over 1 mile from the beach at Maidencombe, the property is spacious and has been furnished and decorated to a very good standard. There is a sunny courtyard area, with table and chairs perfect for al fresco dining. The local pub, dating back to the 17th century, is two minutes walk from the cottage and serves good food and real ales. There are many walks from the cottage – including the South West Coastal Path – and the Teign Estuary is a great place for bird watching and nature lovers. Nearby Shaldon is an idyllic little fishing village of quaint cottages and narrow streets situated at the mouth of the Teign estuary on the edge of the English Riviera and Torbay. Visit the award winning Ness beach by walking through the "Smugglers Tunnel"or stroll around the village and visit Shaldon Zoo and Homeyards Botanical Gardens. Teignmouth is only 3 miles away, with many shops, a Victorian pier and theatre. The town of Newton Abbot (4 miles) has a racecourse, a market on a Saturday and a local farmers market on a Tuesday. Why not visit Paignton Zoo or join theDartmouth Steam Railway which will take you to Kingswear, where you can get a ferry over to Dartmouth or a trip up the river to Totnes. Both Dartmoor National Park - with its heather-clad tors and ponies - and Exeter are only 20 minutes’ drive away. The Torquay area has a lot to offer – family theme parks and all weather attractions like the Living Coasts, where penguins wander freely, the theatre, which has shows all year round, or take a ferry across to Brixham, to sample the fresh fish and seafood. The Jurassic World Heritage Coast and many National Trust properties are within an hours car drive. Community shop, pub and restaurant 100 yards
