About Sue Morris

We fell in love with this property as soon as we were through the gate. Over the last few years we have totally refurbished the house and added the pool. It is truly the perfect bolt hole for me and my husband, 3 grown up children and extended family. We are based in Surrey but come down regularly for long weekends.

Sue Morris purchased this cottage in 2009

Why Sue Morris chose Kingsbridge

We have been holidaying in the South Hams for the last 15 years and in 2009 decided to buy a property as we loved it so much. Over the last 7 years we have had many happy holidays and celebrations with friends and family at our home.

What makes this cottage unique

The magic of this house is the total peace and tranquility that washes over you as soon as you arrive. My daughter says this is her most favourite place in the world.

Everything perfect

  • 5 of 5

We have had a brilliant holiday in this beautiful house. The standard of furnishings, equipment, games, pool, garden etc were fabulous and spotlessly clean. I can recommend it with no reservations at all. Our ages ranged from 5 months to 74 years and there was something for all.

We will definitely return.

Court Barton House was superb and all that we could have hoped for.

  • 5 of 5

We had a week's break over the Easter holiday for the whole family, 12 in total, ranging from 5-72 years. The facilities at Court Barton House were excellent. Although none of us had used an Aga before, it proved easy to use and very useful as the weather was not conducive to barbecuing. Although we would have liked to eat outside, the weather did not make it possible, but facilities in the kitchen were great and we all sat around the table at meal times.

All the games were used extensively, the snooker table and football table being the most popular. The cinema room was also a great hit. Everybody used the hot tub and we would like to return to make use of the swimming pool.

All bedrooms were spacious with lovely large bathrooms.

The garden was great for an Easter egg hunt and the weather was kind to us on Easter Sunday.

Local facilities were good, so we could stock up when needed without too much trouble. Kingsbridge and Salcombe are both lovely towns. The numerous local beaches are superb and we were able to use them despite the weather.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely property.

Fabulous Holiday Home in a lovely location with every amenity for all ages

  • 5 of 5

Our ages ranged from 4 to 74 and we made full use of the swimming pool, hot tub, table tennis table, snooker/pool table and BBQ. The weather was very kind to us and we were content to stay locally visiting Kingsbridge and Salcombe. The "kids" went to Woodlands Leisure Park one day while the older contingent went to visit Overbecks with its beautiful gardens overlooking the estuary. We joined in the folk dancing outside the Hope and Anchor pub in Hope Cove and also enjoyed a meal at Jack and Wills in Salcombe. Salcombe Gin factory also got a visit with it's fine views from the first floor balcony. All in all an extremely pleasant family holiday for all. Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful holiday home.

Beautiful House and Location with great amenities

  • 4 of 5

The property is very adequately furnished and equipped for all climatic conditions; no risk of any age group not finding entertainment in and around the property. All equipment worked well and our younger group members made good use of the cinema room late in the evening, when they finally gave up on the pool and hot tub. Didn't affect our enjoyment of course but a lack of washing line meant wet towels and swim wear had to come back into the house and into tumble drier or onto AGA for drying, not the best arrangement for health of the property long term. So many walks about the location, we did a number from the property, Hope Cove and Thurleston on occasions we also walked to Malborough for provisions, excellently stocked Co-op store at garage. So many seaside and country villages within a 20minute drive with good restaurants and Pubs, though we did eat in most frequently as we had excellent cooking facillities. All in all we had a great week with all our family (3 generations) under one roof with so much space we never were 'under anybody's feet' and not a cross word all week - 'amazing'.

Great family Easter stay

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 12 family members from 22 - 87

The cottage suited all needs with the cinema room & games room being used for competitions.

Great outside space with plenty of seating at the front where you get the sun. You can walk to the beach from the cottage where there is a cafe/ eatery with coffees & great food & don't miss the the coastal walks which are unspoilt & good for all ages. My Dad even managed to walk from Bigbury to Burgh Island.

The cottage is well equipped & all the rooms are comfortable & we all loved using the aga for cooking.

Salcombe is a great place to wonder with the gin factory & Dick & Wills for lunch. Don't miss the Winking Prawn after a walk either at breakfast or for lunch.

Amazing house

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 12 including a toddler and 2 children, the house is fantastic we fell in love with it, so spacious it never felt crowded. We had very mixed weather but there is so much to do that it never mattered. The hot tub was very popular even in the rain! We loved the spacious kitchen and enjoyed all being able to eat together around the large table. The cinema room was great as was the games room, we made good use of all the facilities. There are some lovely coves nearby and some great walks. Would 100% recommend this property and we all said we would love to return.
