About the property

Somerset Manor - sleeps 20 guests in 10 bedrooms

Once a former rectory, this large luxury home comfortably sleeps 20 guests (16 in the main house and 4 in the Dovecote) and has been lovingly restored and renovated to create a most beautiful peaceful country house. The adjacent Dovecote offers a more contemporary haven, stylishly designed with comfort and luxury in mind. Classic architecture dating back to the 1680s will charm even the most discerning of guests.

The accommodation comprises seven super king double bedrooms, (five of which can be made into twins), one double bedroom and two twin bedrooms. The first floor has four bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms and the second floor has four bedrooms with two family bathrooms. In the adjacent Dovecote there are two bedrooms which share one large family bathroom with bath and over bath shower. The master bedroom has an en suite with shower and large claw foot bath, whilst the Japanese room has an en suite bath with sink.

Within the grounds, the heated pool and sauna are always popular for young and old. For the more active there is a tennis court as well as croquet and football in the garden. The snooker room and table tennis indoors can provide great after dinner entertainment and there are ample living spaces in which to unwind.

Use of car is recommended.

Distances:

Holton is 2 miles away and has the excellent Old Inn pub. The Stapleton Arms in Buckhorn Weston (4 miles) is comfortable, informal with a good, regularly changing menu. The Kings Arms in Charlton Horethorne (5 miles) has local beer, exotic menus and a croquet lawn.

There are over 17 acres of landscaped grounds surrounding the house. The south facing elevation ensures day long sunshine. The swimming pool and sauna are set just away from the house but is still very much of the garden and lead through the winding path to the tennis court and paddocks.
