Beautiful, large, French farmhouse set in well tended gardens with a swimming pool.
We spent a week here fro 25 September to 2 October and the weather was hot and very sunny so it was ideal to be able to sit by the pool, listen to the birdsong and cool off in the pool. There is good public transport from the village to Bordeaux and there were plenty of Ubers for late returns. The village has three decent restaurants, one has a Michelin star. Two of the restaurants were closed Sundays and a Mondays in September and the only village shop is a baker that closes in September for holidays. The house is in a traditional french style with lots of antique farmhouse tools and furniture and loads of space and is surrounded by a large, well tended garden. A car is required for shopping for large numbers as there is very little locally and getting a large car in and out of the house car parking is a tight squeeze especially when the neighbour parks close to the gate. There are four spacious, double bedrooms upstairs along with a study with library. There are two bathrooms, one en suite, and separate toilet. getting upstairs is difficult for the elderly or disabled and steep for small children. Downstairs is a another study, large living area with dining annexe, kitchen, toilette and utility room. The house is very well- equipped and there were plenty of towels. The terrace outside the kitchen was ideal for outdoor eating, with a bbq and large table with chairs. Another terrace with lounging chairs was outside the dining area for sitting and drinking.
