About Christine Storey

Our families are joint owners of Midwood Lodge and Cottages. We are the Storey and Sweeney families and we love sharing the property with guests and try to make it a home from home. We like to leave a lovely welcome pack for guests to enjoy and provide tea and coffee.

We personally have wonderful memories of seeing our own children grow up and have fabulous photographs of children playing football on the beach and beautiful village scenes through the seasons.

Christine Storey purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Christine Storey chose Alnmouth

We love the village of Alnmouth and the privacy that this property gives with lots of outdoor space and parking which is rare in the village. The huge garden is such a pleasure as we both live close to the city and have tiny city gardens. The tree house is wonderful for children to play in. We have a big shed which guests can use for storing bikes and walking gear.

What makes this cottage unique

It is lovely for families as it is all on one level and we have lots of awards including:

Families Welcome, Walkers Welcome, Cyclists Welcome

We have awards for family friendly, with indoor and outdoor games. We also have our own Tarzan swing in the garden as well as a wonderful tree house.

Excellent cottage in superb location

  • 5 of 5

The organisation and communication from Christine and Louise is first rate.

The cottage is well furnished, is immaculately clean and has everything you need.

The location couldn't be better - Within easy strolling distance of Alnmouth shops, pubs, restaurants and the superb sandy beach.

We especially appreciated:

- The little extras that were already in the cottage for example the cake, chocolate, tea, coffee, biscuits

- The excellent clear instructions on how to use the shower, the heating and the lighting in the bathroom

- The comfortable and decent sized bed

- The recommendation for the best pub in town (The Red Lion) - Good beers, good choice of wine, very good food - Make sure you book the restaurant in the pub as both the bar area and the restaurant get very busy

We would also recommend:

- Bistro 23 restaurant in Alnmouth (only open 2 or 3 nights a week and need to book).

- Mumbai Flavours restaurant in Alnwick

- The street food shack in Alnmouth selling locally caught seafood and nice sweet potato fries - The guy running the place is a really friendly character who loves to chat and knows everything about Northumberland

Owner's Response: Thank you for such a lovely review. It will be great for potential guests to see what's available in the local area too, in fact we will have to try Mumbai Flavours in Alnwick too, as we haven't been!! Thank you for taking the time to submit your review. We really appreciate it. Louise and Christine.

Comfortable & Well Equipped Cottage

  • 5 of 5

Great central location for exploring the coast and Alnwick. Great pub (Sun) is an easy crawl down the road in the town.

Copious information provided for all aspects: getting there; how equipment works; where to visit; where to eat; etc. Owners made personal friendly contact.

Much better experience than the norm...idea for a romantic duo.

Homely Cottage which is perfect for a couple seeking a relaxing break in a good location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely spotlessly clean Cottage. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. Fully equipped with everything you could need and in a quiet cul de sac which makes for a relaxing time. Perfect location to tour Northumberland and the Cottage is less than a 5 minute walk to the village and its amenities. Excellent choice of pubs, restaurants and eating places.

Very thoughtful owners who provide a wealth of information on the area and a very extensive welcome tray. Would highly recommend. We wish we lived closer so that we could visit more often
