About the property

Rural remedy in the grounds of historic old vicarage in the heart of tranquil Little Tew. The Summerhouse (suitable for all seasons) is the second of three luxury, private and comfortable conversions of 17th Century farm buildings providing comfortable accommodation for two to use as a base for lazing or exploring.

Three steps lead down to the Summerhouse's own private entrance opening straight into the open plan living area with vaulted ceiling.

A well equipped kitchen has views over the Summerhouse's dedicated private garden area and offers a breakfast bar for sociable chefing.

A designated dining area and sink into sofa sitting area with wood burner both have french doors leading out onto a private stone terrace.

A king size bed with crisp cotton sheets in the separate bedroom with a well appointed bath and shower room complete the accommodation.

Privacy is assured as the south west facing garden is not overlooked and is bordered by a former stable block housed underneath the Hayloft (also listed) which is empty and currently awaiting restoration.

Little Tew in the Snow

  • 4 of 5

Snow restricted our activities but we were able to occupy ourselves and get a few short walks in and enjoy the area.

Accommodation good and we were impressed by the owner's concern to make sure that we were Ok.

Bucolic old world country village with modern conveniences

  • 4 of 5

Once we found the cottage we were very pleased with the layout, furnishings, and next door neighbors, a small herd of cattle and an ancient Abbey and Monastery. Mark was very responsive to our needs a first class owner. The cottage was within two or fewer hours of numerous historic sites - Stonehenge, Coventry Cathedrals (ancient WW II bombed out and its ultra modern replacement), Blenheim Place Winston Churchell's birthplace, and numerous small colorful villages and great little pubs.

Fantastic return visit to Little Tew

  • 5 of 5

This was my second visit to Little Tew, having stayed in the Hayloft last year. The Summer House is equally as tasteful and the privacy of the walled garden with the steamer chairs and BBQ on the hottest bank holiday weekend for 50 years was more than anyone could ask for (except maybe for a swimming pool, but this is England!) Hotels are out of the question for us from now on. Thank you Mark - I'll be back!!

Ideal Cotswold retreat for Two!

  • 5 of 5

The Summerhouse in Little Tew in the eastern Cotswolds provides a very comfortable, relaxing, friendly environment for 2 people. The modern cottage provides all ones needs and more for

a perfect getaway stay. The owners are very welcoming, helpful and even treat their guests to fresh produce and flowers from their beautiful gardens. The cottage is beautifully landscaped and ideally situated to tour many of the charming,, historic towns of the Cotswolds. We highly recommend "The Summerhouse"!

Great relaxing surroundings. Wonderful home with high quality furnishings.

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful Summerhouse. Quiet area with lovely views. High quality furnishings. Absolutely loved the walled garden and made use of the secluded lawned area attached. It was great to open the doors on the Summerhouse and bring the outdoors in. The groceries and wine on arrival was a really thoughtful finishing touch. Didn't have to travel far for the Cotswolds and Oxford. The open top tour bus is a must to gain an insight into the History of Oxford. I would definitely recommend the Summerhouse and will hopefully return.
