Overview

About the property

Stunning views & easy walk to beaches from 1 bedroom apartment

Explore the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal Path from this comfortable self-contained holiday home which is great for walkers, birdwatchers, in fact anyone who wants a relaxing break in a beautiful rural location within easy walking distance of Saundersfoot, Coppet Hall and Wiseman's Bridge beaches. Many more are just a short drive or bus ride.

No need for a car to enjoy a holiday here as a local bus stops here on request (Monday to Saturdays) and will take you to our three nearby beaches as well as to Tenby, Pendine Sands and Amroth - you can visit a different beach every day of your holiday because Pembrokeshire has more than 50 beaches, including many award-winners for water quality. Look for Blue Flag winners if you want full facilities or Green Coast winners if you prefer the more wild and unspoilt natural beaches like Barafundle. Even the beach food is award-winning at Freshwater West at Cafe Mor. Every beach here is a winner as each and every one is unique.

You can relax with a meal or a drink on the decking and be entertained by our many garden birds and rabbits, while enjoying superb views over Pleasant Valley and Stepaside, towards Carmarthen Bay.

It's only a 20 minute walk to Wiseman's Bridge, or for sandy beaches walk about 25 minutes in the the other direction to Coppett Hall, and 5 minutes further from there brings you to Saundersfoot Harbour and beach. Just a little further along is Glen Beach and If feeling more energetic you can also walk the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path to Tenby or Amroth beaches and get the bus back. National Trust sites Colby Woodland Garden and Stackpole are very popular for walkers with good refreshment facilities and frequent events.

You have the best of both worlds here as Forest Grove is set in a beautiful rural location, yet with good shops nearby. Co-op food store is within a mile at Kilgetty. Saundersfoot has a Tesco and a Spar, and there are local farm shops and delis too. Very convenient for cashpoints, cafes, post offices, restaurants, takeaways and pubs in Saundersfoot and Kilgetty, and Wisemans Bridge Inn. Good launderette in Kilgetty.

Transport: National Express coaches and Arriva Trains stop at Kilgetty (one mile from house and we are very happy to pick up our Guests there on arrival).

A local bus passes the house about every two hours during daytime in each direction, going to Tenby and Pendine Sands. More frequent buses to Tenby, Pembroke and Haverfordwest go from Kilgetty. From Pendine you can get the connecting bus to Carmarthen and it follows a scenic route through Laugharne, where poet Dylan Thomas was born.

Wifi internet, TV and off-road parking are all available.

Underfloor heating will keep you cosy if you're coming for a winter break.

The holiday home sleeps two in a double bed and we can also provide a fold-up bed if needed for an extra Guest,

About Greg

I travelled extensively after growing up in Africa and have a special love for India, especially Pune. Meditation and good healthy food are my main interests. Having renovated other properties in Pembrokeshire, I was hooked by the time I had finished Forest Grove and could never return to the city now. My partner Kim and I recently opened our own Asian Fusion restaurant at Pendine Sands and we offer a discount to our Guests.

Why Greg chose Stepaside

It was the view from this property that made me determined to share it with visitors, one Guest actually shed a tear when she saw it. Being able to walk down to the beaches so easily every day from here is wonderful.

Great break away at a great location and in a lovely apartment.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in a very nice location and is fantastically equipped. We had a great week and even when the weather was bad it was nice to be able to spend some time in the apartment. Thoroughly enjoyed and would go again.

Lovely quite location and spacious, well appointed accommodation.

  • 5 of 5

Had a very enjoyable stay here in this immaculate accommodation. Very roomy for two with a nice decking area to sit and enjoy the tranquility.

Loved the regular visits from the Peacocks too!

Greg was always around to help and offer advice about where to eat out and places to visit. All in all, highly recommended!

Perfect stay

  • 5 of 5

Very good communication from Greg prior to arrival.

Property was well equipped, clean, spacious and comfortable.

Quiet and peaceful, on a road, approx. 1 car every 2 hours goes past, so nothing really to disturb the peace, apart from the sound of the birds and peacocks.

Beautiful views, the full length windows in the kitchen and living area were ideal to make the most of the views, and the balcony was ideal for sitting out in the evening.

Greg is very knowledgeable about walks in the area, which the location is ideal for. It is also relatively close to some interesting and historical local towns and beaches.

For general stuff, shops, restaurants etc., car is needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this fabulous accommodation and highly recommend.

Hervorragendes Feriendomizil

  • 5 of 5
