About the property

Chimney Pots is a character cottage in a great location that sleeps 4.

Chimney Pots is a contemporary character cottage centrally located in a large village in the heart of the Peak District National Park. You enter the property to a welcoming lounge with wood burning stove (initial supply of logs included) and TV with built in DVD player. Also located on the ground floor is a country cottage kitchen diner with the usual appliances (fridge/freezer, gas hob, microwave, washing machine). Accommodation upstairs comprises of two bedrooms and a bathroom. One bedroom is a double, and one has two single beds that can be joined to create a superking on request. Outside there is a lovely terraced garden with views over the village rooftops (hence the name Chimney Pots). Garden furniture and BBQ are provided. Please be aware that the terraced garden is accessed via some steps so not ideal for people with mobility issues and children need to be supervised at all times. Parking is on street outside the cottage.

The property is well positioned within the second largest village in the Peak District, Tideswell, also known as "Cathedral of the Peak". The village has all the local amenities you may need during your stay, such as four pubs (all serve food), two fish and chip shops, numerous cafes, a Post Office, bank, Co-op, pharmacy, butchers, bakers, greengrocers and more. All amenities are within a short walk from the property and you couldn't get a much shorter walk to the Horse & Jockey pub which is just across the road.

Tideswell is ideally located in the heart of the Peak District with all the popular tourist areas, such as Bakewell, Castleton, Edale (where the Pennine Way commences) and Buxton a short drive away. Popular Peak District activities include walking, cycling and climbing and all of which are easily accessible from Tideswell. The Monsal Trail is popular for walking and cycling and is very close to Tideswell.

Cot and highchair are available upon request.

Pets are welcome and there is no restriction on the number but we ask you keep them downstairs please.

About Tanya Frost

Why Tanya Frost chose Tideswell

Having both enjoyed holidays with family and friends to the Peak District in the past we found ourselves holidaying here together prior to deciding it would be a great place to have a holiday home. We love the location of the property as Tideswell provides a central base to explore the many attractions and beautiful scenery of the Peak District. The cottage itself is also in a great location within Tideswell as it is only a short walk from all the village amenities, and more importantly opposite a great pub, the Horse and Jockey!

A gorgeous cosy cottage - in a perfect location for seeing the best of the Peak District!

  • 5 of 5

My fiancé and I stayed at the cottage for two nights with our dog. It was super clean, with everything we need - including towels, bedding and even some milk and cakes, which the owner had kindly left for us. After our long walks on each day, the cottage was the perfect place to return to and relax for the night. The log burner is a wonderful feature which makes it so cosy - we loved it. The well equipped kitchen was lovely to cook in - and it being next to the lounge ensured you could still talk to other people in the living room. We popped over to the Horse & Jockey pub, which had a great atmosphere, good beers and an open fire - a country pub essential! The shops are just around the corner from the cottage so it’s ideally located to pick bits up. Plus Tideswell - which itself is a beautiful, old village - is in a really central position to reach many of the Peak District’s wonderful features. We enjoy walking so having all the hills - and caverns which we also visited - on our doorstep was great. I can’t reccomend this cottage enough. It’s a perfect getaway spot and we’ll definitely stay there again! Many thanks to the owner for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Have absolutely no complaints. Cottage was clean, tidy and warm. The beds were really comfortable and there was everything there that we needed. The village was good with lots of nice places to eat for a small village and very pretty. Perfect for a weekend away!

Great location

  • 3 of 5

A very cute cottage in a fantastic location with great public transport for neighboring villages. The house is good for a few nights stay and Tanya was very attentive with us when we arrived. Due to having a small problem when we arrived, Tanya arrived promptly to rectify the problem. Would return for a weekend break
