We are situated in the centre of Ampleforth, in-between two fabulous village pubs; The White Swan and The White Horse. We also have a Village shop/Post Office and a wonderful new cafe, Kirks. Parking is on street outside the front of the cottage. Our holiday cottage is a one minute walk to the nearest bus stop, which is on the bus route between York Station and Helmsley. There are plenty of local taxi firms, which we can book for you if required. A highchair can be provided free of charge.

Lovely home from home

  • 5 of 5

We spent Easter Weekend at Moorside Cottage as a group of 6 adults, and it was a real home from home. Everything had been thought of, and the cottage was comfortable and clean. The village of Ampleforth is very well placed, with the Dales, the Moors and York easily reached.

Lovey cottage, great situation, good for managing dogs.

  • 4 of 5

This a lovely cottage and excellent for managing dogs. Our only disappointment was the cooking utensils and crockery. We love to cook but found the knives and peeler ,no masher at all ect disappointing . A little more cutlery and crockery would mean not having to put the dish washer on after every meal.

Highly recommended, just bring your favourite knife if you are a cook!

Beautifully decorated cosy cottage

  • 4 of 5

Lovely property in the centre of the village. Any problems we had were quickly dealt with. Stunning views once you reach higher ground nearby. Village has a lovely coffee shop with delicious food and a small shop for basics. Thank you Katy and Dean, we have had a lovely stay.

Beautiful, well-equipped cottage. Could happily live there.

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for 2days prior to daughter's wedding. We were all delighted with the cottage and were sorry we weren't staying longer. Katy was very helpful and the lovely lady who cleans (so wish I could remember her name) was extremely patient with us. Thankyou Katy. I would like to think we'll be back one day.

Very nice place in a lovely village - highly recommended!!

  • 4 of 5

Great decor throughout with plenty of room and lovely outside space. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area.

Only slight issue would be that one bathroom between 6 adults meant a bit of queue for the shower. Perhaps scope for a second shower room in one of the spare downstairs rooms (I realise that this wouldn't be cheap!!)? Oh and the lock on the front door was a bit stiff!

Other than that we had an absolutely great weekend and would definitely visit again!

Great property in great location

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was really lovely and tastefully decorated. It is in a great village with 2 excellent pubs, a tea room and a shop. In a good location for exploring Yorkshire and within easy driving distance of York
