About Sarah Hancock

We became the proud owners of Fountain Cottage last year having fallen hopelessly in love with North Cornwall several years ago. We are a married professional couple who live in Warwickshire. We visit our second home as much as we can, often joined by our friends and family of both the two and four legged varieties.

Sarah Hancock purchased this cottage in 2015

Why Sarah Hancock chose Saint Breward

Ours is a little cottage with a big personality. St Breward truly is set in an area of enormous natural beauty with moorland, waterfalls and rivers, wooded valleys and canopied lanes surrounding it. And it's less than a 20 minute drive to our nearest beach at Trebarwith with the rest of Cornwall all within easy reach.

What makes this cottage unique

The views from the pretty enclosed courtyard make it a gorgeous spot to enjoy a glass of something lovely in the evening. There is a footpath that starts immediately by the side of the cottage and just a 200 metre walk up the hill will reward you with panoramic views that extend for miles and on a clear day includes a tantalising (if thin!) glittering slice of the Atlantic ocean. There is a bench there where you can sit and take it all in. On a practical note it's also perfect for those 'last thing before bed' doggy walks! Talking of our four legged friends, you'll find a basket of freshly laundered dog towels in the rear porch and there is a shower attachment outside the cottage for washing off muddy paws.

Pleasant cottage in a good location for local attractions

  • 3 of 5

Cottage was pleasant and comfortable with excellent array of DVD, books, leaflets to help make the stay enjoyable during inclement weather.

Parking is not that easy with a big car and this should be made clearer on the website. Shower was also disappointing - no power or pressure at all.

We liked the property but feel it was at least a £100 overpriced.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to review our property. We're sorry you found parking difficult with your large car, we will emphasise to future guests that the space is cosy for larger vehicles. Apologies also that you found the water pressure in the shower disappointing, this surprises us as we and our guests usually find it to be good. It's unfortunate that you didn't tell us at the beginning of your stay as our handy man lives a few doors down would have been very happy to look at it for you. We hope otherwise that you enjoyed your break in north Cornwall. Warm regards, Sarah Hancock

Beautiful little cottage

  • 5 of 5

Myself, husband, 10yr old, 6 yr old and Husky, have Just have a fabulous stay at fountain cottage. Wish it could have been longer. Cottage was beautiful, clean and had everything you could possibly want.

Amazing welcome pack included some beautiful scones and delicious wine yum yum.

Great location to explore Cornwall, lots of things to do.

Thank you so much Sarah for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.

Lovely, clean, well equipped cottage.

  • 5 of 5

We are just back from a lovely few days at this cottage. The weather unfortunately was not the best, but I have to say this cottage is so well equipped with our changeable British weather in mind. There were plenty of books, games, cards, DVDs and CDs to keep us amused. We had a lovely time exploring the area and enjoyed the coastal walks with our dog. Returning back to the lovely, clean and cosy cottage to dry off! Thankyou for the welcome pack aswell. We would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends.
