Neglected Property
I try not to give a bad review but other travellers should be warned what to expect!
In the year since the last published review (rated good) this bungalow seems to have deteriorated rapidly. The property is in need of item replacement /repair and a thorough deep clean as it is very neglected
We contacted the agent after the first day – she suggested we vacuum up the many cobwebs ourselves and to try a different programme on the washing machine (the spin cycle still left the washing wet)
The property is shabby - for example stuffing coming out of the dining chairs, peeling wallpaper, stains on carpets. Filthy ironing board cover, stained wall with spillages from the dishwasher. Doors not shutting properly eg bathroom and door to sunroom
The equipment is showing its age or missing - for example only 3 mugs (for 8 people), glassware blown, plates chipped, only 1 (melted) spatula and a couple of grubby wooden spoons for cooking
Thick horrible cobwebs - on the walls, behind the beds, behind the dresser, by the side of the fridge
Very large spiders appeared almost every day in the shower, bedrooms, and living areas. Despite us spending a lot of money on chemical deterrents and natural remedies such as lavender etc, this many spiders were far more than we had expected, even in this exceptional year. This was not an isolated issue as the vents to the outside were all covered with ageing sticky tape and old lavender was strewn about the rooms
