Ski Resorts: Isola 2000, Valberg are an hour or so away. This offers the possibility of a dip in the Med before skiing in the afternoon.

Cannes: Cannes is quite a small town, but it is a town of many faces. Indeed, the centre itself presents three very different landscapes – the prestigious seaside promenade, La Croisette, the lively town centre overflowing with boutiques, and the picturesque old port and Suquet hill which make up the old town. In the same style as Le Suquet, but 4km or so north of the town, Le Cannet is a delightful little village of narrow, winding streets and old houses belonging to the town’s suburbs. Also bordering the town but this time to the east, La Californie-Super Cannes is a lush, green haven sheltering luxury villas. On the western side, the suburbs engulf Cannes La Bocca and heading south, you’ll reach two green gems afloat in the sea – just 1km from Cannes’ shores, Iles Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat attract thousands of visitors every year.

Great property, great views, great area!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at Villa la Folie with our children and grandchildren and enjoyed our stay enormously. The location is perfect - Le Cannet is within walking distance, and our daily walk to the boulangerie for fresh bread and cakes became our early morning habit! It was nice not having to drive to get provisions if we didn't want to! The town is very pretty and had everything we needed, although being 10 people, a trip to the supermarket in Antibes was a must.

The villa is traditional yet modern, spacious, well equipped, very clean and well maintained. The outside space works really well, with a dining area just outside the kitchen, where we spent most evenings with a glass of wine putting the world to rights! We ate out on only one occasion because everyone was happy to eat at the villa, where the adults could relax and the children were able to continue playing in and around the pool. The outside and inside space was such that everyone was able to find a space they could be in, away from each other, if that was what they wanted! A must when there are 10 people of different ages spending time together.

Because we have visited the area a few times before, on this occasion we didn't venture far, but with the town centre close by, a beautiful view, relaxing and very comfortable surroundings, we really didn't need to! We were all sorry to leave at the end of our stay and would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

Simply amazing

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing find - Perfect house in a perfect location - views really are that stunning! Photos don't do the house justice. Very well stocked property, outside furniture was perfect. Had a query with the pool when we were there which was answered promptly.

Very spacious rooms and comfy beds.

Walked into Le Cannet daily (brace yourself for the walk back) and walked down to Cannes too - bus back is only 1 Euro!!

Have already recommended to people and would happily rebook next year.

Quelle folie cette villa !

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful Memories ...............

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent an amazing week at this Villa and take with us wonderful memories. The Villa is very beautiful both inside and out. It is fully equipped with everything you need. The management team are very welcoming and helpful, and very easy to contact via mobile if needed. We eat out for three evenings at a lovely little restaurant in Le Canet, but our other four evenings were spent at the Villa, cooking amazing fillet steak on the BBQ, whilst our children played in the pool. I will never forget the beautiful view over Cannes that greeted us every morning and evening, and truly hope to be able to return one day. The owner is also extremely helpful and contactable by e-mail if required. We would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful Villa.

A Lovely Place

  • 5 of 5

We (a family of five) spent the entire month of August at Villa La Folie, and it turned out to be one of our most relaxing and enjoyable summer holidays ever. The Villa is very spacious even when fully occupied (we had friends staying with us for two weeks), very well equipped (including fast wireless internet access for the workaholics among us) and kept in good order, and has a light hearted, friendly atmosphere. The local housekeepers, appearing at scheduled times or as needed, are kind, helpful and accessible, as is the owner and his office staff who are reachable by email and telephone.

Self-catering is actually enjoyable with the fully fitted kitchen and the easy to handle outside grill, but for those preferring eating out there are plenty of restaurants in Le Cannet within walking distance, and more in Mougins and other surrounding towns and, of course, in Cannes and Nice, ranging from French farm style to very sophisticated Michelin star cuisine. Bringing in self-catering supplies for a larger group efficiently will require a car to go to one of the hypermarkets in the vicinity. And speaking of cars: The driveway is very steep, so leave your low riding sports cars at home (just by way of example: a regular Porsche 911 will not present a problem, a GT3 will). Security was never an issue. The Villa is protected by a fence and an easy to handle alarm system.

Even in August one can do a lot of sightseeing - don't be disenchanted by stories about ghastly traffic jams, they are certainly there, but not all the time, and it is just a matter of moving around intelligently at suitable hours. Once the cultural vigour has subsided and the beaches (much better in Saint Tropez than in Cannes and Nice) have lost there attraction, there is always the opportunity to just stay at the Villa with its pleasant pool area and its magnificent, unobstructed views of the Mediterranean. Champagne glass in hand, sunset over Cannes (and bug spray ready or citronella candles lit at this hour) - these evenings have provided us with long lasting memories of a great time.

A Beautiful Villa!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at Villa La Folie. Although it is a self-catering villa, it is very well equipped- especially in the kitchen! Our last night at the villa, we cooked there and had a wonderful meal out in the patio. It was just beautiful. The view from the villa, overlooking the sea, is amazing and the villa felt very private.

Le Cannet is so charming too. There are some great local restaurants in the main part of town. There are bakeries and food markets within walking distance, but you do have to take steep steps on the way back to the villa! Cannes is very close by and one can easily get there by car.

We were a larger party and had children with us, but the villa felt very spacious. Our kids had so much fun at the pool. The owner is very helpful if one has any questions. We were there in August and the only thing I have to say is that you should come prepared with bug spray. Citronella will be helpful to keep the bugs away. This was just a minor inconvenience and obviously beyond anyone's control.

We loved our stay at Villa La Folie and highly recommend it! Our only regret is that we wish we could have stayed a full week to enjoy the villa.
