Deep in the heart of leafy Buchanan Castle Estate, Strathendrick House is a haven of peace and tranquility. A vast garden, dominated by an enormous fir, and surrounded by mature trees and an orchard, ensure utter seclusion and privacy.

There are substantial private gardens featuring an orchard, private access to stream, al fresco dining, trampolines and swings. Suitable for families, large groups, and also suitable for couples looking for a romantic and secluded break.

The village of Drymen is charming. Why J.A. Ker Russell chose Scotland

We wanted a secluded spot, but not isolated, within walking distance to a village and local pub / restaurant. We were looking to bring up a young family in somewhere we could always call home and always look forward to returning to, whatever age we were. And we wanted somewhere special, that excited us each time we arrived. Strathendrick House has achieved everything we wanted and more!

What makes this cottage unique

Secluded and private but not isolated

Big enough to fit friends and family, small enough to feel warm, welcomed and comfortable

Decorated and finished with charm and taste but not flash

An amazing garden with its own private river

A family of deer that treats that garden as it's own

A perfect place to get away but not feel to far

Idyllic place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Fabulous holiday, in a gorgeous house, close to Stirling, Glasgow and of course the beautiful Loch Lomond. Strathendrick was very spacious and comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Most days we found wild dear chilling in the garden. We had a very relaxing time with lots of fun.

A fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful and had everything you could possibly want. We have 2 children (12 & 10) and they loved the place. There is so much room in the house, and every one of them is very comfortable and very well looked after. The kids spent a lot of time in the garden playing, and we made several meals in the very generous kitchen. The evenings were spent around the wonderful log burners (probably didn't need them on as the weather was lovely), which really finished every day off so well. The scenery is stunning and the local amenites are only a short walk away, and the pubs are all friendly and the food is great. You feel like you have your own little patch of heaven, we will definitely be returning soon.

Beautiful family home in a stunning location

  • 5 of 5

We loved every minute of our stay from the first glimpse of the house through the trees to spotting the deer as we drove out on our way home. The area was great, the scenery was stunning and there was plenty to do. We were planning a return visit on the drive home!
