Some good and some bad
We found our stay to be mixed. First the good things - the house is spacious with plenty of room for a large family, the swimming pool is of a high quality and also of a good size, the people of Meslan (notably the baker, the pharmacist and the bar-keeper) were absolutely lovely and among the friendliest people that we have ever met in France.
The less good things - Splinters, the deck around the pool is not well maintained and I pulled perhaps 20 splinters from our 3 kids feet over the 3 weeks of our stay.
Electricity - On arrival we were asked to sign a "contract" which said that we agreed (among other things) never to run any of 6 named electrical appliances at the same time. So you cannot, for example, use the toaster and the washing machine simultaneously. Similarly, the oven can't be used at >200 degrees (they have pulled the temp knob off to prevent this). We kept to their rules, but had one power cut of a couple of hours in the kitchen area. The owner was pleasant and helpful in resolving this. The explanation is that the pool is large and constant electricity draw and you need a commercial rather than domestic level of power supply to maintain electricity to the house at normal levels.
Additionally, I would say in some other respects the house needs more maintenance. Masonry is a bit crumbly, only one "sticky" key is supplied, and so on.
We enjoyed our stay, but its fair to say that the house has good and bad aspects.
