Fabulous Holiday!
The garden around the pool is beautiful and the pool was crystal clear and maintained daily early in the morning before most of us had surfaced for the day. We all enjoyed cracking open fresh almonds and collecting eggs from the chicken coop. The beauty of the setting is further enhanced by the backdrop of the Hyblaean mountains and the sweeping views of the sea beyond Avola The villa is well equipped for cooking which we did for several evening meals. I can also recommend take away pizza which we collected from Pizzamore in Avola. We did the car share with the owners Corrado & Isabella who provided a Fiat 500L that was in immaculate condition. Usually we end up hiring a much bigger car to manage luggage from the airport run but as Corrado and his nephew met us at the airport with the Fiat they were able to take 2 cases in Corrado’s Citroen. Having a slightly smaller car proved a great bonus later when trying to find tight parking spaces or navigating narrow streets in places like Noto and Palazzolo. We had asked ahead about table tennis and Corrado kindly sourced a ping pong table which we hired for our stay and had great fun playing in the cooler parts of the day. Corrado was so helpful in having a missing delayed suitcase delivered to his house in Avola and bringing it up to the villa for us. The villa is an old family home and has been lovingly cared for by Corrado and Isabella whom we would like to thank once again for being the most wonderfully gracious of hosts.

Lovely rural retreat
Beautiful location, pool area was kept immaculate and outside spaces were really lovely, fresh eggs from the chickens and lemons picked from the trees. Very easy access to Avola and surrounding villages. The owners Carrado and Isabella were so lovely and helpful we had a wanderful stay !

Wonderful villa and grounds
Really nice villa to stay in. Outside areas and the pool are just amazing. The owners, well, you could not meet a nicer couple. We had a great time at the villa, albeit, we had to cut our holiday short due to illness. I cannot praise Corrado and Isabella enough for their help, kindness and hospitality. The villa itself is cool and has air conditioning in each room. it was spotlessly clean as was the outside and the pool, which are cleaned every day. The road up to the villa is somewhat bumpy and quite long but as you're on holiday it doesn't really matter. Good location to visit so many areas from Siracusa all the way up to Modica/Ragusa.

Paradise on earth!
We have just come back from 2 weeks in this absolutely beautiful Sicilian villa sounded by Lemon, Almond and Olive trees complete with Chickens set in typical Sicilian hills. Corrado, Isabella and their son ‘Giulio’ are very friendly and extremely helpful. The pool is crystal clean and very well maintained on a daily basis. The Villa is spacious, clean, pleasing to the eye and well configured. It has air conditioning in the rooms which is welcome in the hot summer months. Outside there is a lovely BBQ corner and a wood fired Pizza oven which was fun to use during stay. It is also very private and secluded and therefore, requires a car to move freely around. The nearby town ‘Avola’ is typically Sicilian with easy access to a number of beaches. We would recommend going to Cava Grande which is close by and Mount Etna is a must if you have time. We have rented Villas all over Europe and this tops the list and ticks every box! We would highly recommend it. Thank you so much Spitale family!!

Rustic Sicilian villa, with lots of charm, space and tranquility - great base for a family holiday.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Corrado, Isabella and the Spitale family are great hosts and its clearly important to them that you are happy in their beautiful villa. Corrado especially went out of his way to be as helpful as possible, nothing was too much trouble and although his English is limited, we managed to converse well, with Gaia and Giulio on hand to translate whenever needed. The villa is a typical rustic Sicilian villa, in a lovely location with a backdrop of mini mountains. There is lots of space surrounding the villa, with almond, lemon, olive and pomegranate trees, from which you are free to pick your fill. The pool area is fab, with a larger than average sized pool, which Corrado keeps spotlessly clean. The sea views from the full-length bedroom windows is a joy to wake up to every morning and a delight to see the twinkling town lights in the evening. There are no immediate neighbours so you have complete privacy and it was great to be able to eat outside every night, even in mid-October. The villa is not in walking distance from the town so, as we all like a glass of wine or two and love to cook, we chose to eat in every night. The villa has everything needed to do this and there are two good supermarkets nearby and a fishmonger in Avola. We were able to get lots of lovely Sicilian produce at Conrad, which has a fab meat and deli counter. We used the wood fired pizza oven (with some advice from Corrado) a couple of times, which was fun for everyone to join in with and the built-in barbecue area is really good too. Having the chickens was also a real bonus, especially being able to collect fresh eggs every day. We didn’t spend much time in Avola itself (which is about 10 mins from the villa by car), so cant really comment on it. Noto and Siracusa are around 30 mins away, both beautiful and well worth a visit. There is a large amphitheatre in Siracusa and the Ortygia area is lovely, with quaint streets, lots of little restaurants and boutique shops and a food market. Ragusa is around 1 ½ hours away and Modica is en route, both stunning Baroque towns. We also had a nice day at Calamosche beach in the Vendicari National Park. I would definitely recommend this villa and would like to come back in the future. Thank you Spitale family – you did a good job!
