Relaxing Break
We had a lovely time exploring Soller and the surrounding area. We used all the local footpath routes and enjoyed the villages. Our evenings were spent relaxing and reading in the garden of our beautiful home for the week The walk into Sóller centre was 10 minutes and 15 minutes back up the hill, we found everything we needed, bars, restaurants and supermarkets. We loved the train and tram.

Beautiful casita
A lovely casita, private and cosy with beautiful relaxing areas outside. Robert was most helpful with information about the local area and in helping us to arrange transport. An idyllic spot.

The Casita Sóller
We have actually stayed in this wonderful little casita 3 times over the last 12 years. It is perfect, if like us you enjoy splendid privacy and isolation, surrounded by greenery and mountains, but at the same time like being only a walk away from old town Sóller with its restaurants a supermarkets. The casita itself is tastefully rustic and lovely with everything that you will need including workable wi-fi, well equipped kitchen and unusually a more than adequate hot shower. However believe me you will spend nearly all of your time in the garden with its ancient olive trees and covered patio/ dining area. The owner Robert is a lovely guy, extremely well informed in a variety of fields, who cannot do too much for you during your stay. That said other than on day one, he will not bother you unless you need him, he will then respond immediately despite his busy lifestyle. He is a native Mallorca who speaks fluent English with a Californian accent ( I suspect he was either a CIA agent or gangster in a former life) A few points worth noting. There is ample on site parking The walk to and from Sóller is steep if you are less able. The casita has neighbouring holiday villas and local farmsteads, which you will hear (mainly sheep) but not really see,it is very private and undisturbed. From Palma airport to Sóller is a very easy trip by either train or bus, if you do not wish to hire a car. A day trip to the sights of Palma by the little train is a great day out. Try at least once, the lunch time ‘menú del dia’ in the more local Sóller restaurants. It is a hours walk to the beaches and bars of Port de Sóller or you can take the bus or toy tram. Walk an hour and have lunch up to the picturesque Fornalutx or half an hour to Biniaraix. You will find both Maria and Robert very helpful if you need a pre trip advice.

A winter walking hiliday
We struck lucky with this beautiful casita. It was a perfect base from which to start many very scenic walks. Very peaceful and secluded and yet just a 10 minute walk from the hustle and bustle of the plaza. Robert was very welcoming and greeted us when we arrived down by the main road and we followed him up to the casita. He spent time showing us where all the best walks were. We would like to thank Robert for having us stay and would highly recommend it to nature lovers who are seeking a peaceful retreat.

I have always been very interested in the Mallorquin building style, architecture, and culture. I have been professionally involved in designing many homes in Soller maintaining the traditional Mallorquin Soller style. The Mallorquin Soller style is quite unique as it is a mixture of different cultures. Many of the older properties were originally built during the Islamic period that at its longest lasted 300 years. You can still see the influence in the names of many villages like Bini Ali or Lluc Alcari or Bini Basi. Even some people claim the name Soller has an Islamic meaning. There were two Islamic periods the last one ending 1229 so there is still lots of traces left, including many minarets in Palma city.
