Spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at BellaVista. The views of the Tyrrhenian Sea from the spacious deck are spectacular. We spent hours watching the boats and ships go by. The space was clean and neat. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bedrooms were comfortable and the Wifi worked flawlessly.

Public transportation is a real challenge at this location, especially on Sundays/Holidays, so you have to be flexible and willing to walk. The local busses can be overwhelmed and on at least 2 occasions, Andrea or Mario saved the day by giving us a ride to Amalfi when time was of the essence. Taxi service is very expensive. You can rent a car in Bomerano and this would be a good option if you want to go out on a Sunday/Holiday or go somewhere that it is not convenient via public transportation.

There are 2 restaurants in easy walking distance and the lady at the convenient store (5 minute walk) is friendly and carries a huge selection. Bomerano is within walking distance using the stairs but the bus is a better option. There are several restaurants in Bomerano plus a fish market and a couple of green grocers, a small grocery store, a bread shop and the usual coffee bars.

The hospitality of our hosts was truly wonderful. Giuliana and Andrea speak only Italian, so we communicated by email and their son (Mario) our daughter (Antonia) translated. They went out of their way to procure a crib for our 9 month grandson when he came to visit for a week with his parents.

Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We just spent six days at Casa BellaVista. So what did we like? Just about everything. It's far enough out of the way to be quiet, but just down the street from the bus stop into Amalfi. There is a wonderful little market just down the street, a first class restaurant just up the hill, and a magnificent view over the Mediterranean. On top of all that, Giuliana and Andrea are fabulous hosts. We had a few things that didn't work when we checked in. No problem. Andrea got them all fixed right away. Ok, the washing machine belt broke and it took a couple of days because he had to drive into Naples. But Giuliana insisted that we give her our dirty clothes so that she could wash them for us. Four times in six days, we had special treats from Giuliana's kitchen. We arrived early. No problem. We sat on the patio enjoying the ocean and drinking sweetened coffee while we were told about the area. A day later, Giuliana cooked us a lemon cream dessert. Another night, we came back to find a home made pizza waiting for us. Still later, we got chocolate cake. Finally, suggestion for improvement. The beds and pillows are pretty hard.

Great place, great people!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed a week at Casa Bellavista in Furore. It is a beautiful, spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a lovely terrace with stunning ocean and cliff views. Giuliana and Andrea own the apartment and live right below. They are extremely friendly and helpful, as is their daughter, Antonia. They helped us figure out what to see on the Amalfi Coast and how to get there. Andrea even drove us to the trailhead for the Path of the Gods hike one morning. Antonia also helped us decipher complicated bus and ferry schedules as we planned out our daily outings.

The apartment itself is comfortable, clean, and large. Wi-fi strength is excellent, kitchen is fine, and the terrace is a lovely place to relax with dinner and a bottle of wine. There is parking right outside the apartment and also a bus stop, so you have your choice about whether to get around the rest of the Coast by car or bus.

There is also an amazing restaurant about a 5 minute walk up the hill called Bacco. We had one of the best meals we've ever had there.

Furore itself is a small and quiet village, a nice change of pace from the tourist-swamped cities like Amalfi and Positano. All in all, this is a great place to stay and a wonderful family to get to know.

Wonderful Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We spent twelve days in this beautiful place. The apartment was clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. Giuliana and her family are wonderful people .They were very warm and welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us. The view is amazing. We would stay here again gladly. Thank you Giuliana, Andrea, Mario and Antonia for a vacation we will always remember with fondness.

Anniversary Celebration/First Trip to Italy

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Bellavista. My wife and I were taking our first trip to Italy and celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The house was clean, the bed very comfortable and the view from the balcony was marvelous. There was a cake, water, and milk in the fridge for us when we arrived. A nice gift book about the Amalfi Coast was also given to us. The WiFi worked without any problems.

Breathtaking views!

  • 4 of 5

The villa was spacious with a bedroom and bath on opposite sides of the apartment. The view from the balcony was simply breathtaking. Quiet and peaceful. We were greeted and instantly felt welcomed. The hosts gave us suggestions on places to eat and visit. The wifi was spotty one night but they came to fix it within 20 minutes. We had to park on the street but fortunately we visited during the off season. We would recommend bellavista to others!
