Wonderful View/Great Place

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Casa Bellavista was wonderful. We drove up and down the mountain in a horrific rainstorm to reach the place and our hostess was standing outside waiting on us. The bedrooms with private baths were great but it was the balcony overlooking the sea that was amazing. A short drive down the hill got us to a small store that had everything we needed and a short walk got us to a restaurant/bar. We barely left the place for our short stay. Being able to park right out side the house and walk up only a few entrance steps was great after seeing the steps it took to get to other properties nearby.

Breathtaking views and beautiful family!!

  • 4 of 5

The family who own this house are thoroughly nice people and presented us with a local dessert upon our arrival – we also got to sample their homemade wine which in and of itself is enough for a high review rating. :-)

The house is large with two very good-sized double bedrooms and a large lounge-diner where there is space to seat six easily around the dining table. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances and utensils supplied.

The real showpiece of this accommodation is the terrace which has incredible views of the Amalfi coast and is a real sun trap when the weather is good. Deckchairs and outside seating are provided and this is where we spent most of our time. If you wake up early enough you can capture some incredible sunrises from the terrace and at night some extraordinary sunsets.

There are a few things that need updating in the house but it is clean and comfortable. The family who own it gave us recommendations to local restaurants, attractions and towns. They were also kind enough to give us a lift to Amalfi as the taxis are brutally expensive in this area.

There is a small grocery store a short walk away and a very good restaurant that adjoins it (Luca's). We managed to buy everything we needed in the supermarket and preferred it to the larger store further down the hill.

We would stay at this property again if we return to the Amalfi Coast and highly recommend it.

Beautiful views & friendly hosts

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was ideal for two couples on our seven night stay. It was clean, very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and laundry. The views from the terrace were stunning and we enjoyed spending time lounging & eating our meals the balcony. We enjoyed spending time in nearby Bomerano which is also where you can begin the walk on the ‘Path of the Gods’.

The location was perfect with a car rental for easy access to explore the area. Traffic was busy even for what was to be the quieter season.

The hosts were very helpful & accommodating. They gave us gifts from their kitchen & garden. The owner’s son Mario gave us many travel tips. He also gave us a ride to the town of Amalfi to ensure we caught the ferry to Capri on time & to avoid parking fees.

The beds were very firm. Loud voices from below were disruptive to sleep at night.

Overall our stay was memorable & we would recommend Casa Bellevista.

Perfect property for 2 couples. Lovely veranda for eating and relaxing. Local shops and restaurants.

  • 4 of 5

Property is perfect. Location is not good if you wish to rely on buses! You can park your car outside the

property but you must keep it tight to the wall. This area is not great for self drive due to heavy traffic and difficulty parking. We had to ask the owners on 2 occasions for a lift down to Amalfi(which they were happy to do) to ensure we were able to have a full day out. We did not like to ask any more than this. The buses are invariably full and drive straight past you and it is about a 2 hour wait for the next one. No guarantee that this will have room either. Not really suitable for walking down to Amalfi. Area is suitable for walkers but not those who wish to use the public transport. Family owners are very nice and welcoming.

Spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at BellaVista. The views of the Tyrrhenian Sea from the spacious deck are spectacular. We spent hours watching the boats and ships go by. The space was clean and neat. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bedrooms were comfortable and the Wifi worked flawlessly.

Public transportation is a real challenge at this location, especially on Sundays/Holidays, so you have to be flexible and willing to walk. The local busses can be overwhelmed and on at least 2 occasions, Andrea or Mario saved the day by giving us a ride to Amalfi when time was of the essence. Taxi service is very expensive. You can rent a car in Bomerano and this would be a good option if you want to go out on a Sunday/Holiday or go somewhere that it is not convenient via public transportation.

There are 2 restaurants in easy walking distance and the lady at the convenient store (5 minute walk) is friendly and carries a huge selection. Bomerano is within walking distance using the stairs but the bus is a better option. There are several restaurants in Bomerano plus a fish market and a couple of green grocers, a small grocery store, a bread shop and the usual coffee bars.

The hospitality of our hosts was truly wonderful. Giuliana and Andrea speak only Italian, so we communicated by email and their son (Mario) our daughter (Antonia) translated. They went out of their way to procure a crib for our 9 month grandson when he came to visit for a week with his parents.

Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We just spent six days at Casa BellaVista. So what did we like? Just about everything. It's far enough out of the way to be quiet, but just down the street from the bus stop into Amalfi. There is a wonderful little market just down the street, a first class restaurant just up the hill, and a magnificent view over the Mediterranean. On top of all that, Giuliana and Andrea are fabulous hosts. We had a few things that didn't work when we checked in. No problem. Andrea got them all fixed right away. Ok, the washing machine belt broke and it took a couple of days because he had to drive into Naples. But Giuliana insisted that we give her our dirty clothes so that she could wash them for us. Four times in six days, we had special treats from Giuliana's kitchen. We arrived early. No problem. We sat on the patio enjoying the ocean and drinking sweetened coffee while we were told about the area. A day later, Giuliana cooked us a lemon cream dessert. Another night, we came back to find a home made pizza waiting for us. Still later, we got chocolate cake. Finally, suggestion for improvement. The beds and pillows are pretty hard.
