Gîte in France
The cottage is very pretty. The staircase was was a bit difficult to climb up and down. The wifi kept dropping out. Very pretty well maintained garden. Friendly cat. Host very friendly. Overall we used it as a base to travel from.

Normandy Charm
Enjoyed our stay in this little fairytale thatched cottage. Laurent was a great host, friendly and unintrusive. A great base for touring the region.

Simple rustic charm
This is a lovely location from which to explore the Marais Vernier. We enjoyed long walks from the door, relaxing evenings in the beautiful garden and the market and shops of Port Audemer for groceries. Laurent was a helpful and considerate host. We had forgotten to order linen but as soon as we realised Laurent was able to meet all our needs with no fuss for a small charge. This converted sheep-pen is tiny and basic but the idyllic setting makes up for what it lacks in 'mod-cons'.

great value lovely area nice people
the cottage was beautiful, quiet, easy to find and a great central point for many lovely places to visit in Normandy. The nearby(6 k.m.)town of Pont Audemer has everything that a tourist could possibly want or need including a first class baker, butcher, bars restaurants ,cheese and fine wine store.Unexpectedly it had one of the best wet fish and seafood shops I have seen in some while.Laurent was away most of the time as he had a heavy workload that week but by remote helped enormously and when we actually met was charm personified. The cottage is not overly easy for seventy year olds as the steps down from bedroom to bathroom arte rather steep and dark at night but manageable when you get to practice! Terrific value for money.

"Laurent is the ideal hos...
"Laurent is the ideal host and was always available to answer questions that we may have. The cottage that we stayed in was one of three in his wonderful gardens which make the accomodation a wonderful place. The smaller cottahe that we stayed in has some lovely rustic charm however if you are expecting a modern kitchen and large a flat screen TV then you are missing the idea of why you should stay here - the cottage and the area remove you from having ''all mod-cons'' and allow you to spend a relaxing time in a part of France that is in a different league. The local area is lacking a shop but if you are in Bouquellon then you have already driven so a short car trip to Pont Audemer is only 10 minutes and there are a number of large supermarkets to do your normal weekly shopping. For meat, fish, bread and cheese (and wine) then there are some extra special shops along the main street in Pont Audemer. We cooked each evening rather than eating at a restaurant but there are plently of places to dine out if you want to. We hope to return again to stay with Laurent at La Bergerie. It is a place that allows the soul to recover and the mind to relax!!"
