Beautiful house. Wonderful owners. Perfect area.

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience renting a house online and it couldn't have been more positive. From the start, the owners were very responsive to all email questions and available when we arrived to show us around. We were two families with 3 children and the house was more than spacious enough. The beds were comfortable, the house was immaculate and the pool was perfect temp. The setting is beautiful and the location was perfect for day- trips to caves and castles and canoeing. We highly recommend this area and this house!

A magnificent property in beautiful surroundings

  • 5 of 5

When we travel as a family we tend to rent large desirable properties in quiet locations with all facilities provided. I am extremely pleased to state that this property is magnificent in every respect. What appealed to us was the manner in which we were greeted by the owners, the aspect that there were none of the usual notes strewn around the property with a list of "do's and don'ts". Everything was provided, from the coffee beans in the espresso machine to bin liners and a fabulous welcome pack.

The decor of the property was typical French style, the swimming pool was was heated, which is not typical for the Region.

The owners showed a genuine interest for their guests, nothing was too much trouble for them. They provided us with a list of restaurants where they eat themselves and were interested to learn of any other eateries that we had found on our travels throughout the Region.

In conclusion, our stay was fabulous and i would have no hesitation in recommending this property to visitors who are looking for the very best property rental in the Dordogne area

Everything as described, and more

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at la Truffiere was everything as described on the site, and much much more. From the very warm welcome by Alain and Genevieve, to the setting, view, facilities, and then sadly, to the fond farewell by our hosts. Very well maintained and stocked with all sorts of appliances, making it feel like a very comfortable home away from home. The serenity, peace and beauty of La Truffiere will forever stay in our minds. We did not want to leave.

The cave paintings of Lascaux are very near the luxurious and charming house of the Truffière. Thereby it will be extremely easy to go and visit those caves and museums. At the heart of the Périgord Noir is the fantastic medieval and historical town of Sarlat. With the highest number of classified historical buildings per square meter in Europe.
