Lovely chalet in a great location
The chalet was perfect for two families of three for a week skiing; the adults had the two double rooms upstairs and the children shared the bunk room downstairs. You could put another two people on the sofa bed on the mezzanine. The hameau is quiet with spectacular views across the valley; the small ski rental shop and amazing l'Ancolie restaurant both just a 50m walk away. Most of us had pre-booked skis rental there and they were mostly ready and waiting. For skiers, the ski and boot room at the chalet is really good with excellent boot AND glove warmers and a clever ski rack. It's a short walk to where the free bus stops to take you to Flaine, but just across the road from the bus stop there is a short groomed track which joins the Opale piste. You then go up Gerats chair from where you can ski down into Flaine. On the way back, rather than get the bus we got the Foret drag lift, then Gerats and ski back to where you start in the morning. There is a short walk back up to the road but we still found skiing back more fun than the bus.
We took enough food for seven breakfasts and five evening meals and there was plenty of space in the fridge, freezer and cupboards to store everything.
Joelle was very helpful with advice on where to shop and so on and answered the couple of small questions we had about the chalet. The combination of a great ski resort and a great place to stay has given us a holiday to remember for all the right reasons.
