About Heather

Hello My name is Heather and I have lived in Wales permanently since 2013 when I moved here with my husband Alun from Rugby, Warwickshire, England. We have always loved this part of the country and are now very happy to live here and hope that you will enjoy this beautiful part of the country in our lovely cottage, which is just over the road from where we live.

Heather purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Heather chose Kidwelly

My husband Alun was originally born in South Wales and wanted to move back here, and I am from Leicester. I used to go to Pembrokeshire on holiday as a child, the next county to Carmarthen and I now have to pinch myself that this wonderful countryside is now on my doorstep. We both love the great outdoors and there is so much exploring to do here, walking, cycling, the beaches and Castles are all very close by.

What makes this cottage unique

Enjoy the stunning views from the balcony, double bedroom and kitchen of the Gwendraeth Fach and Carmarthenshire. There is a garden which also belongs to the cottage for quiet relaxation. You can also walk up the mountain, Myndd Llangyndeyrn and see 7 counties from the top and some ancient stone burial grounds.

We had a great time, the weather was very kind to us too. The cottage is cosy and comfortable and is in great location not far from Carmarthen. Heather is a lovely thoughtful host too. X

Exactly as stated

  • 4 of 5

A good sized property with a quaint little balcony that was great when we got back with the dog - despite some rain and even snow was able to enjoy the area and was comfortably warm when we returned each day from a day out

Quiet, cozy and easy to get to.

  • 5 of 5

Booked for a "get away from it all new year break" and wasn't disappointed in the least.

Fully equipped cottage with ample off street parking, within easy reach of shops. Very clean and tidy albeit a bit chilly, but it was January 1st and it is a stone built cottage !, once the fire is on and your inside you can forget the world around you and relax.

Low doorways and lower light fittings are a bit of an issue if you're over 5'8" (I have the bruises to prove it!) but its a 100 odd year old place so it's expected !!

Lovely walks for the dog within a stone's through from the door and an enclosed patio area which is safe for pooch to be left out in.

All round highly recommended and a fantastic little place to stay.

Owner's Response: Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your New Year break. You stayed during a very cold spell that had swept across the country, with some awful weather, but I am sure that you thoroughly enjoyed chilling by the log fire. There are some low doorways and unfortunately this cannot be altered, but it all adds to the character of the building. Glad that you found some good walks for the dog. Kind regards Heather

Beautiful cottage, full of home comfort

  • 4 of 5

Easy to find, away from it all and we had a very relaxing time. The cottage was warm in the living area, not too hot in the bedrooms, so comfortable to sleep. The lights were the only problem, the kitchen light was energy saving, and missing a bulb, so we could hardly see when cooking, but it added to the fun of it all. Wonderful power shower to wake you in the morning. We were welcomed with milk, tea, coffee, sugar and Welsh cakes, lovely touch, and the host was on hand if we needed her. Many thanks for a lovely stay. It was recommended to us by our daughter who stayed in September, and we have since recommended it to several friends.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind comments and very pleased that you had a relaxing holiday and found the cottage to be warm and comfortable. I apologise for the light bulb mix up and have now addressed that issue. I will be delighted to welcome your friends to the cottage. Kind regards Heather
