This newly renovated and landscaped home, designed by award winning architect Griffin Enright, is a private sanctuary situated on a quiet tree-lined street, just a few blocks fashionable Main Street and the beach just beyond. A quick and easy walk will take you to restaurants, cafes, shops, Sunday farmers' market, galleries, renowned yoga and fitness studios, spa services and, of course, the water's edge. This is the perfect base for photo shoots or extended stays in the lovely seaside city of Santa Monica.

The house is enclosed like a hidden jewel inside a chic fenced and gated compound for the ultimate in privacy, romance and tranquility. It features walls of glass that bring the outside in. Enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds from one of the three 'outdoor rooms' or the living room, den, kitchen and bedrooms. Adding to the ambience is an indoor/outdoor sound system, which provides music in every room, and recessed lighting with dimmers.

Dark maple floors throughout, plus a luxurious mix of B&B Italia and custom furnishings designed for the space.

Open concept living room, den and kitchen all under vaulted ceilings. The den is complete with a 47" flat screen TV and Blue Ray Player, WiFi enabled.

Gourmets and avid home cooks will delight in the kitchen which is fitted with Caesarstone counter tops, Liebherr and Bosch high quality appliances, including a convection oven, five gas burners and dishwasher. The Alessi kettle sits atop the range; the All-Clad cookware, French press, microwave and toaster are all tucked into cabinets.

There is a half bathroom adjacent to the living room.

The washer and dryer have been placed in a laundry room, so they are out of view.

There are 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed, expansive closets, a new Tempur-Pedic mattress and flat screen TV. The second bedroom is also furnished with a new queen bed and mattress and an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling closet space.

The master bathroom features a walk-in shower, accessed through a frameless glass door, and a separate bathtub.

A 1000 SF outdoor living space enhances the property’s appeal and offers the ultimate in relaxation with deck, landscape, fire pit and contemporary furnishings.

The home is equipped with high speed wireless internet. There is also an integrated indoor-outdoor sound system complete with Sonos.

There is parking in the garage and also on the street with a permit that will be provided.

Air-conditioning & Heating: Central air conditioning and heating keep the home cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter.

Laundry: The house has a washer & dryer; there is also an ironing board & iron.

Housekeeping Services: We focus on extended stays and provide weekly housekeeping services as an amenity for our guests.

Parking: There is parking in the garage and also on the street by permit (provided).

Booking Details:

In order to reserve the property a signed rental agreement is required.

50% payment is required to secure the property. The second half is due 30 days prior to your arrival. Payment in full is required at the time of booking if less than 30 days prior to arrival.

There is a 3% processing fee on all U.S. credit cards and a 5% processing fee on all non-U.S. credit cards. There is no fee for payment by e-check.

U.S. residents are required to purchase a $99 damage protection policy from CSA Insurance (via VRBO/HomeAway) which allows for coverage of $5000. If CSA Insurance is not available for non-U.S. residents, a $5000 refundable security deposit is required for renters who do not live in the U.S.

We chose this location because of the neighborhood. The quiet of the tree-lined streets, combined with proximity to shops and restaurants of Main Street, the beach and our favorite yoga studio. Award winning architects and designers worked with us to renovate and furnish the home to meet our modern sense of aesthetic and the indoor / outdoor feel that we love. It provides the best of all worlds - privacy and tranquility matched with a 5 minute walk to cafes, restaurants, shops and the beach. We enjoy walking or biking everywhere on the weekends. World class dining and shopping in Venice is a 15 minute walk; Santa Monica Place, the Third Street Promenade and Fourth Street metro are all just a 10 minute walk. Beverly Hills and Downtown Los Angeles are easy drives, and LAX is just 15-20 minutes away. This is truly the best of Southern California living.

PERFECT!

The property is immaculately designed inside and out. From the wonderfully contemporary interior to the private, relaxing yard, it soothes. Stephanie was a great hostess, assuring every detail was covered, including a pleasant weekly cleaning lady. Stephanie was 100% reachable anytime we had a question. The property is very well positioned in a Santa Monica to be able to walk to restaurants and shopping in Main Street as well as to the beach. Nonetheless, the street is quiet and leafy. Highly recommend!

Amazing stay!

My 2 small children and I stayed at Stephanie's house and we absolutely loved our stay. In fact, if I were to come back to LA I would def. stay here again.

For starters, the pictures don't give justice. Stephanie renovated the house with loads of taste and at high standards. It has a fence that provides privacy, atypical in the houses in the area/LA. The house has a garden/courtyard that it is really nice for laying in the sun, having dinner outside or just for the kids to run around & play.

Stephanie is by far the best host I have ever experienced. All kitchen tools, sheets, towels and usual utensils you'd need were either new or replenish after last guest. She was always extremely attentive and willing to help even with sport suggestions. She even brought a yoga mat when she found out that I liked yoga!

In addition, Santa Monica is a really nice place to experience LA. You have a good mix of beach and city life whilst you are not too far from other popular boroughs such as Venice Beach or West Hollywood.

I would give more stars if I could.

We loved Santa Monica but would not recommend this house rental

For the amount of money we had to pay for this rental, it was a great disappointment . The owner of the rental would not give an inch. There was no table and chairs to eat on, only a kitchen counter. We asked for beach chairs since this was a beach area and she refused. We had to buy our own chairs and umbrellas. Our car could not fit into the garage which had a low garage door. When we got a ticket for parking on the driveway because the car hung over the sidewalk. owner refused to pay it. We had to deal with alternate side of the street parking which was very difficult.

All the calls on our cell phones were dropped and I had to sit in my car to make a phone call. Finally, the owner brought in a land line after two weeks there.

The fridge never closed properly unless you slammed it, so a beeper would go off. Same with the freezer. It would sometimes beep all night.

On a positive note, the kitchen was well stacked with cooking implements as were the towels and sheets.

Only one thousand square feet, the owner could have been nicer and not so cheap. I nicely gave her suggestions but she never took them under advisement.

Do yourself a favor and find another property

Owner's Response: I take great pride in my lovely modern home and go above and beyond to make certain every guest has a five-star experience – response time in minutes, fluffy new towels, housekeeper, etc. When guests ask questions or need assistance I go out of my way to help, always receiving kind thanks and compliments…until this guest and her companion arrived. Lynn G, an elderly woman, originally booked an inexpensive condo in a lesser part of the city; the owner cancelled the reservation on short notice, so HomeAway stepped in and paid 2x the amount of the original booking to accommodate. I was scheduled to be out of the country, but agreed to help, with all parties knowing I would be unavailable for the first two weeks of the stay. Immediately after booking I received several demanding calls from the guest. I contacted HomeAway to let them know there was a problem and asked to cancel the reservation, but the rep told me there would be repercussions if I were to do so. I went out of my way to accommodate, even while I was on holiday in Africa, when these guests sent texts asking for addresses of grocery stores not on the list I provided, requests that I buy beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. The day of my return the couple demanded a meeting. I listened while they read off a litany of complaints – they didn’t like the model of the toaster, the types of handles on the front gate, the stylish towel hooks as opposed to a rack. The list was endless. They said their cell reception was bad – no complaints from past guests, many of whom used multiple mobile devices – and I immediately turned on a land line and bought a cordless phone for their use. Next I received a frantic call about the refrigerator. I went to the house and found the door hadn’t been closed properly; the alarm beeped to notify the temperature had risen. Another urgent call telling me the disposal was broken. I immediately went to the house and found a penny lodged in the drain… I was very clear with instructions about parking – a car cannot cross the sidewalk – but the guest chose to ignore the guidelines and expected me to pay the citation. I contacted HomeAway – they advised me to break the lease and tell the couple to leave. I felt bad doing that, so I told them they might be happier in another rental and offered a refund. I even looked for alternative accommodations for them. They chose to stay and left the house in shambles on departure – filth and trash everywhere.

100% Excellent

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here. The architecture and interior design were modern, but there was still a warm feel to the house. It was absolutely spotless and most everything seemed brand new. We particularly loved the high ceilings and extras like the sound system with speakers everywhere (including the bathroom), high end candles in each of the rooms, new linens and towels; even a loofah. We walked to almost everything - from workouts to meals. A few questions came up at the start of our stay and our calls and texts were answered within minutes. I'm giving my highest recommendation and look forward to staying here again.

Amazing Vacation in Santa Monica

My wife and I recently spent a fantastic week at this home. It is truly a hidden and private gem, surrounded by tall fencing and a cool drought-tolerant garden. The interior is all new and completely modern. We especially liked the outdoor area where we relaxed and sipped wine each evening. The sound system is incredible and there were speakers outside too.

The location is perfect. We walked to the beach, to several restaurants, and an upscale mall where we both enjoyed shopping. The mattress is super comfortable and we chilled a few mornings watching movies in bed. There is easy freeway access to all the sights in Los Angeles. We will definitely return.
